This Year, I’m Launching 2 Side Income Sources

They don’t require much work & maintenance.

“Do less, aim for more” popped into my head when I reviewed the past year in December 2023.

The previous year was great in terms of earnings and professional growth.

I launched a new digital product besides my SEO ebook, grew my blog on Medium to 15k followers, grew my newsletter to 2k email subscribers, and helped several B2B companies create high-ranking content.

Moreover, I moved to Canada and started my new life away from home.

That sounds like a great year and many achievements to be proud of.

That’s true.

However, I see a lot of work, sleepless nights, and compromised weekends behind the scenes.

Content creators rarely talk about their challenges. However, sharing struggles isn’t a weakness. It’s a strength to tell the world about your feelings and discover you aren’t alone in going through this.

I definitely didn’t quit my full-time job to work over 40 hours a week.

My primary goal has always been freedom.

I want to do whatever I want anytime from anywhere in the world.

I don’t say solopreneurship is for everyone. However, I was able to improve my physical and mental health by getting rid of toxic people and taking care of my health.

My gut feeling has always tried to stop me from following shiny objects. I even refused to consider full-time opportunities in Canada because they don’t satisfy my primary goal — freedom. Weird? Maybe. But I’m happy working on my projects and have more epic plans for this year!

I plan to add two more income streams besides Medium, my website, and ebooks on Gumroad.

Here’s what I’m planning to do.

A new way to monetize my newsletter

I’ve recently taken an insightful course from Tina Lopez called “Audience Profits,” where she teaches how to grow your email list without social media and paid ads.

In addition, Tina shows how to passively make money from your newsletter using Sparkloop.

I’ve already made my first $100 by promoting other creators’ newsletters on Sparkloop. However, it’s nothing compared to Tina’s earnings from a relatively small email list.

If you wonder what I did to make that $142 on Sparkloop, I’d say I did almost nothing.

I connected Sparkloop to my Converkit email software platform. That’s it.

I earned money whenever my email subscribers signed up for someone else’s newsletters.

That’s probably the easiest and most passive way of making money from a newsletter.

I want to grow my newsletter this year and make $1,000 monthly. I admit that’s a bold goal. However, Tina showed me strategies on how to achieve it.

Moreover, I started 2024 by switching to a new email software provider that offers even more monetization opportunities for content creators — Beehiiv.

I haven’t used Beehiiv for a while because their success was linked to their social media hype. However, they’ve introduced many cool features over the past year that I’m willing to try.

For example, they offer Boosts (similar to Sparkloop), sponsored ads, and premium subscriptions to help you monetize your newsletter.

I’ve already earned $ 3.4k+ from their Partner Program without even using their email software.

So, let’s see what I can achieve with Beehiiv.

I’ll launch new product(s)

Launching a new product each year is already a tradition.

Even though updating my SEO ebook on “How to create content that hits the Google front page” yearly takes a lot of effort, I also manage to launch new products.

Last November, I launched an “SEO checklist for new websites” and sold 26 copies by January 2024.

I’m close to hitting $10,000 on Gumroad thanks to my ebooks. I’ve never thought making that much money selling digital products was possible, but that’s my new reality.

I want to launch two digital products this year if everything goes according to my plan.

I’ve been silent about my Medium journey for a long time. However, there’s a lot to talk about. I’ve published 300+ stories, grown my follower base to 15,000, and made $16,379+ from the Partner Program.

Furthermore, Medium has become a vital client generation channel for my online business.

None of your success stories will be a coincidence or luck. They’ll be linked to your passion, dedication, and persistence.

You can still take a risk when you are young. If you win, you win. Even if you fail, you learn.
