This woman vlogged about her life in a polygamous relationship, and now she has 900k subscribers!

If you think you have seen enough crazy in the world, wait for it.

There is a woman in Pakistan named ‘Sitara Yaseen’, who has a YouTube channel with around 900k subscribers (at the time of writing this story) and gets millions of views on her videos.

You might be thinking, what’s special in her channel or her vlogs? Well, she shares her life with the world.

But what’s special in her life, you may ask?

Her life is certainly more adventurous and challenging than yours! Her husband married another woman, without divorcing the first wife (Yaseen).

Wait, there’s more — the husband has three children with the first wife. He still decided to marry once again, and his children were his guests at his second wedding.

From her vlogs, one can easily notice that —

• Yaseen was not invited to the second wedding, as she attended it online.
• Yaseen’s interests were not kept into consideration by the husband while getting married for the second time.
• She can be seen visibly upset about her husband’s decision of getting another wife, but she can’t do much about it.
• She can be seen consoling her children who are upset about not getting to spend much time with their father.

Such videos depict her situation and her helplessness to the viewers.

A Humble Beginning On YouTube

Yaseen started her YouTube channel by showing her makeup skills. She used to get a decent 200–300 views on her videos earlier, which was not enough to monetize her channel or have some sort of earning from it.

But as soon as she started posting about her daily life in Karachi (a major city in Pakistan), and posted about her personal affairs, viewers started getting interested in the content.

Today, she earns upward of $20,000 per month (on average). Her life today revolves around expensive trips abroad, she shops in Dubai and flaunts her extravagant lifestyle on YouTube.

But it wasn’t like this always. There was a time when she lived a really humble life, with limited means that were barely enough to support a middle-class lifestyle.

It was only after she posted some videos showcasing her husband getting another wife for himself, that her YouTube channel got heavy traction and a crazy amount of views.

Her most viral video is about her, doing her makeup for her husband’s wedding!

The woman not only shared intimate details about her husband’s second wedding but also shared her life after the second wife came to live with them.

You might be thinking if this woman is vlogging from the 18th century, but sadly not.

On her channel, you can see many videos with titles such as —

• The second wife is home now, I need to get stronger.
• Decorating the second wife’s room.
• The second wife will stay in another home.
• A day out with my husband and his second wife.
• Does the second wife love my children?
• Never imagined that my husband will love his second wife more!
• The second wife is pregnant
• What did the second wife say to me during her labor pains?

This is just a small example of what most of the titles of her YouTube videos look like. However, the views on her videos are insanely high.

On average, every one of her videos easily gathers around half a million views in just one day!

The secret sauce?

What’s the secret behind it?

Well, if it has to be summed up in two words, it is — emotional connection.

The audience felt an extreme emotional connection after watching her initial videos that depicted how she is handling the circumstances in her life, where the husband is bringing a new wife without divorcing the first one (Yaseen herself).

From the initial videos where she is showing her cooking and makeup skills, one can easily observe that her home is not luxurious or lavish. She might as well be financially dependent upon her husband.

Her makeup products are also not the ones that would be too expensive or branded. This further gave a glimpse of the lady’s financial situation to the viewers, and they felt worse for her.

A woman stuck in a marriage with children, unable to get out because there’s nowhere else she can go.

In some of her earlier videos, she has also described her situation before she got married. Her father died early and she was married at the age of 13. She had her first child when she was 16, and in 2022 she is just 25 years of age!

Such stories move the viewers and they instantly feel an emotional connection, after which they want to know everything about her.

Some of the questions that the viewers might have are —

What happened to the husband? Is she still living with the second wife? Are they all living together? Is everything alright? Is the woman being taken advantage of? What happens to the earnings that she gets from YouTube? Does the husband take all of it?

People want to know the answers to all of them. This further allows Yaseen, to create more content.

She posts frequent Q&A videos in which she answers questions asked by her subscribers, and many of them are personal as well, for example — who owns the house in which you’re living?

Such questions are asked in the first place because in most South Asian countries, women have limited rights, and often it is the husband who owns the house, the real estate, etc.

This further pushes the wife to be financially dependent upon the husband, as a result of which she is unable to leave even if she is stuck in an abusive, loveless marriage.

Yaseen answers all the questions with humility and humor at times. She clarifies that she is the owner of most of the stuff including her home. After she started earning a hefty amount from YouTube, her lifestyle also changed drastically.

Now she tours Saudi Arabia, Dubai, and other prominent places. You can see the change in her appearance as well. She owns an expensive phone (iPhone 13 pro max), wears expensive jewelry, and carries branded handbags.

Initially, she was shooting her videos from a selfie camera on her phone, and most of her videos were shot in this one room, as seen in the photograph below —

Now, she can be seen all over the world, in exotic locations in a new look!

Normalizing polygamy?

Many people accused her of normalizing polygamy and not standing up for herself and her children. She should’ve stood against the husband, for getting another wife, but she didn’t.

Instead, she posted videos of herself talking about getting stronger to accept what life has thrown at her. At times, Yaseen was accused of setting a wrong example for her own children, especially her daughter.

Not paying attention to such accusations, Yaseen continued shooting more vlogs, gathering views and subscribers.

Is she a ‘big liar’?

While many of her followers, and subscribers, say that Yaseen lied a lot about her life, only to gain subscribers and become famous.

She is living a comfortable life with her husband now, while there are many videos on her YouTube channel that say that she is taking a divorce from her husband, or the second wife is snatching her husband away from her, or they have decided to part ways for her the sake of her children.

But now, in most of her recent vlogs and photos, you can see her enjoying trips with her children and husband, while the second wife doesn’t even get a mention anywhere!

This does not deny the husband marrying another woman though, but this does put the credibility of Yaseen into question whether her controversial videos which have the most views — are honest or not.

Well, only she knows the truth.

Her channel is growing fast, and she is getting around 1000 to 1200 new followers on a daily basis.

She is posting one video on her YouTube channel every single day, which ensures an ongoing, continuous flow of cash through vlogging and social media.

True or not — she is surely a smart woman who knew how to turn her life and her circumstances around.
