A deep dive into key recent updates in AI.

Image generated with Distillery

Hello everyone.

We all know that the world of AI is advancing at a dizzying pace. New AI tools, new features, new capabilities, new applications, and much more.

And, I am learning a lot of information about the latest news in AI, so why can’t I share it with my audience?

So from today onwards, you will get a weekly post all about recent AI news on Medium.

To receive more updates about AI, subscribe to me on Substack.

With that said, let’s start with the jaw-dropping AI news that has happened this week.

1. Dubbing Studio

You may already be familiar with ElevenLabs; if not, follow me right away.

ElevenLabs is an AI tool that allows you to convert text to speech online, for free, using their AI voice generator.

Recently, they raised $80 million in Series B funding.

However, today’s post isn’t about that news; it’s about something even more exciting.

I am talking about a new AI tool launched by ElevenLabs called Dubbing Studio, which makes it easy to translate your videos into different languages.

Simply upload or paste the link, choose a language, and click the ‘Create’ button.

Voila, you’ll instantly get your dubbed content.

2. Lumiere

Last year, after the launch of ChatGPT, the focus shifted to building more AI chatbots and AI image generator tools.

You may have heard about notable ones like Distillery, Midjourney, Leonardo AI, DALLE 3, and others.

This year, AI companies are directing their attention towards Video Generation AI tools.

Some of the latest ones include Pika Labs, Moonvalley, and others, all of which are generating truly mind-blowing videos.

In recent news, Google has even launched its AI tool called Lumiere, expected to be better, unique, and mind-blowing.

The standout feature? They are working on something called a space-time neural network to generate clips in a single pass, unlike other models that create distant keyframes.

For more information, you can read about it here.

3. The Holotile Floor

So far, we have witnessed several significant events, such as a single Bitcoin surpassing the $60,000 mark, and AI is rapidly expanding in various areas, with startups achieving unicorn status.

However, there isn’t a big hype about the Metaverse technology, along with VR.

Undoubtedly, Mark Zuckerberg is working hard on delving deeper into this space, and Apple has launched a product called Apple Vision, but there isn’t much beyond that.

But now, Disney has introduced a new product called Holotile floor, a mat-like product where you can walk, and it will automatically adjust to keep an individual on the floor.

The best part is that multiple people can walk on it independently.

A product like this has the potential to enhance the gaming experience and can be very useful in VR related use cases.

4. Samsung Galaxy S24 Powered by Google Gemini

We all know AI is changing everything, and everyone wants to be in the AI space.

Jeff Bezos, Satya Nadela, Elon Musk, Jensen Huang (Nvidia CEO), and many other great personalities have fallen into the AI space.

Even Chrome, Microsoft Edge, Canva, Adobe, and many other companies have added AI to their products.

But it didn’t stop there; mobile companies are also integrating AI into their mobiles.

The first piece of news in the market comes from Samsung.

More precisely, they have launched a number of features to their latest mobile phone, including:

  • “Circle to Search” powered by Google Gemini to search/find anything on your mobile phone just by circling the object you want to search for.
  • Live translations of your call, both verbally and on-screen, in up to 13 languages.
  • Assistance in communicating better in your own language by selecting different styles and conversation.
  • Photmoji, which allows you to turn your photos into stickers and reactions.
  • Android Auto, which automatically summarizes group messages.
  • Note Assist, enabling you to easily organize your notes like a structure in different styles, summarize all the notes in key bullet points
  • And many more.

Insane, right?

5. Microsoft Copilot Pro

I have to be honest; I have been using Microsoft Copilot a lot.

Mainly, I use it to generate images based on my specific needs, obtain answers from GPT-4 for free, and so on.

But I was shocked to hear that Microsoft has launched a pro version of their product.

According to them, the reason for launching Copilot Pro is that many users wanted more rapid access to the very latest features we have to offer, which is why we introduced Copilot Pro.

The pricing? $20 per month.

6. Runway- Multi Motion Update

The last but the craziest update related to AI is from Runway ML.

Talking about the update, you can select any object in an image and add motion to it.

Insane, right?

Also, you can create multiple motions in a specific image with this.

Hope you like it.

That’s it — thanks.
