This Type of Pause Will Make Any Action Seem Insignificant
1 of 4 Pillars of TruGrinder’s Philosophy.

I get asked what the difference is between Keep Grindin' and Stay Grindin'.
The slogan of my brand, TruGrinder.
Followed by "Isn't it the same thing?"
I love answering this question.
Yes and No.
Yes, the grinding part conveys the same message. Because without any action how will you ever accomplish your goals?
The key words are 'Keep' and 'Stay'.
Keep Grindin' is like when you're going for a run, and you accidentally trip and fall down.
Yes, you might get scratches and bruises on your knees, but you’re not injured. Get back up and keep going.
It's both a metaphor and a figurative statement.
Basically anything with the word 'Keep' in front of it.
Keep working. Keep creating. Keep running. Keep moving. Keep on keeping on. Keep Grindin’.
Stay Grindin' is the opposite.
I can continue with the importance of pausing. Catching your breath, taking time for yourself, but this involves intentionally and purposely taking a break.
Stay Grindin' symbolizes the times LIFE decides to put you on Pause.
I’m talking about those times you get seriously injured when you’re on that run or when you get let go of your job due to downsizing or when you lose someone important in your life to death.
I don’t want to get morbid but, I’m talking about any of those times LIFE decides to bench you.
The universe has a mysterious way of doing this.
When you're constantly on the go, always on the grind. You're non-stop because you feel like that's the only way you can progress in life.
Life will intervene.
I always give props to anyone who can deliberately take a pause, because not only is it important, but it's beneficial to your physical, mental, spiritual and emotional well-being.
I was literally non-stop grinding for a whole straight year recently in my life.
Then I remember the day I burnt out.
Not only did my job get slow (it was a slow quarter) but I had to take a non-enjoyable summer vacation for three months.
Those three months were inconceivably the darkest period of my life.
It was during this time that I learned that if you don’t decide for yourself to take a pause, life will make that decision for you. Also, everything happens for a reason, even if you are a pause taker.
It’s during these times that you just absolutely cannot do anything about it.
You can’t work, create, run, move, keeping on. Keep Grindin' is just out of the question.
Stay Grindin’ really means not losing faith during these times.
It means that even though you can't do anything at that moment, you know eventually you're going to have to get back on the horse.
You have to rehabilitate your injury to run again. You have to start searching for another job when the bills start piling up. You have to mourn your loss and grieve in a healthy way.
And what I mean by everything that happens for a reason is that you have to learn to gain new perspectives in your situation.
It’s a time to gain valuable insight and learn something new about yourself.
The great Kobe Bryant once gave Gordan Hayward, after enduring one of the most horrendous injuries in sports history, the most inspiring advice that relates to this:
"Be sad. Be mad. Be frustrated. Scream. Cry. Sulk. When you wake up you will think it was just a nightmare only to realize it’s all too real. You will be angry and wish for the day back, the game back THAT play back. But reality gives nothing back and nor should you. Time to move on and focus on doing everything in your power to prepare for surgery, ask all the questions to be sure you understand fully the procedure so that you may visualize it in your subconscious while being operated on and better the chance of it’s success. Then focus on the recovery process day by day by day. It’s a long journey but if you focus on the mini milestones along the way you will find beauty in the struggle of doing simple things that prior to this injury were taken for granted. This will also mean that when you return you will have a new perspective. You will be so appreciative of being able to stand, walk, run that you will train harder than you ever have. You see the belief within you grow with each mini milestone and you will come back a better player for it. Best of luck to you on this journey my brother"
Legendary.
So remember to pause once in a while and appreciate even the smallest things in life, or else Life will force you to.
