This Traveler’s Purr
A poem
I hear
The heart
Of a NOMAD
Purr.
An ARABIAN dress
Caresses SYRIAN flesh
of an IRISH brand
on FLORIDIAN sands.
A Brooklyn-Bridge-walking gal talking smack
Dances water-side after midnight in a Murrells Inlet love shack.
A N’awlins Queen feeling delicious chills at a jazz club
Fancies her neon green hair before a Miami graffiti hub.
A cheerful blonde hippie smiling above a Hollywood star,
Drinks a PBR in Portland’s darkly lit hipster bar.
A Salt Lake City lady gazing in awe at the smoggy view
Winks at the Kentucky accents as she tries burgoo.
An ARABIAN dress
Caresses SYRIAN flesh
Of an IRISH brand
On FLORIDIAN sands.
I hear
the heart
of a NOMAD
purr.
