Radically accepting both the light and the dark this Thanksgiving season

Today, I am grateful for…

My cozy, quaint apartment. I am so grateful I was able to find this incredible place and that I get to share it with the ones I love. From its sun-filled rooms to its exposed brick walls, it is a gift. A blessing and bellwether against the chaos of the outside world.

The changing of the seasons. I am especially grateful for fall, my favorite season, which has brought refreshing coolness and reminds me to snuggle close to all that I hold dear. It also calls attention to life’s impermanence, and how we’re all just careening towards our ultimate demise.

My new friends. I was so lonely after moving to a new city, but they took me under their wing and showed me love and friendship. I can’t wait to grow closer and more connected with Witch Hazel, Rhododendron, Waxwing, and Gourdlord.
