This Statue’s One-Word Title Says It All
February Six Word Photo Story Challenge: “Statues”
“It’s just you and me now.”
Upon first glance, this statue could be seen as a tender moment between a father and his young child — perhaps a moment of cuddling before bed, or a bit of comforting after a fall. But at the base of the statue is one word that reveals its heartbreaking depiction: Motherless.
People who see George Anderson Lawson’s statue won’t know the circumstances of this father and child, but they will certainly comprehend the overwhelming sense of loss conveyed in the piece.
