This Simple Workout Technique Reduced My Exercise Time by Half
Less time, more gains
Most have no idea when they first start exercising.
I was one of them. When I started in 2013, I spent hours in the gym. In retrospect, it was a massive waste of time.
But I needed it because it made me look for ways to shorten and shorten my workouts. Now, my workouts only take 45 minutes tops.
Here’s how you can half your exercise time, starting today.
Split your workouts
First, this should be a no-brainer when you take working out seriously.
You can train your whole body in a single workout. But to do it properly, it’d take hours.
Instead, go for a split. My favorite one is:
- chest/back
- legs/abs
- shoulders/arms
Over time, I tried many more, but this split works best for me.
It creates a good balance between the upper and lower body. Because I use many compound exercises, I don’t need more shoulder/arm training.
By only doing that, you’ve already reduced your workout time.
I saved hours every week by introducing a split. As I’ve said, in the beginning, I had no idea what I was doing and spent 3 hours per workout.
After that, it was “only” 1,5 hours per workout.
But we can decrease the time we spend working out even further.
Introduce supersets
Now, here’s the secret ingredient.
Supersets are the best way to reduce your workout time AND improve your results. It’s like a cheat code.
Supersets describe doing one exercise straight after the other.
This means that when you first do pull-ups, do push-ups right afterward. Yes, without a break in between.
This will help you hold your heart rate high and increase strain on your muscles, which is a great thing to build them.
And, of course, it saves you time. Because instead of waiting another 30 seconds or even more to start the next exercise, you go for it.
Take your short break only after the superset.
Supersets have changed my workouts forever; they will change yours, too.
Halving your workout time is easy if you:
- split your workouts
- introduce supersets
