This Potted Life

In a rustic pot, sat a plant, That time and care forgot. Its leaves bent and slant, “Seek the light,” it thought. Hope in darkness caught.

Through a window’s crack, Turning yellow walls once black. Sunrays cast and spill, In shadows play they fill.

Took from it, what it could, Despite time and weather. Pushing back as it should, Its green leaves did gather.

Tiny glimmers of light and life, Eddies through its veins. Drawing strength and strife, Despite all that constrains.

A testament to true life’s will, This potted plant on window’s sill. An unassuming symbol of might, A modest example of life’s grand fight.
