This One Thing Revolutionized My Mornings

Photo by Brigitte Tohm on Unsplash

My ideal morning looks like this: I wake up at 6:30 after a full night of sleep. I get dressed and put on some makeup. I have a leisurely prayer time, a short workout, unload the dishwasher, and eat a nourishing breakfast, all before the kids wake up. Oh yes, and coffee.

This ideal rarely materializes. Due to various life circumstances, I often wake up exhausted and all my efforts go down the drain.

But I have discovered something stupidly simple that increases my chances of success:

I put a coffee maker in my bedroom.

I set it up the night before so that when 6:30 comes, I just have to walk over and flip the switch. The thought of freshly made coffee motivates me to get the heck outta bed.

It’s not a guarantee, but it certainly helps. So I’ll take it.
