This One Prompt Will Teach You How to Use ChatGPT

Automate everything you can with AI

Created by the author using Midjourney

Only 3% of people are using ChatGPT to its full potential.

This phrase is used daily by “AI influencers” trying to sell you their overpriced ChatGPT mastermind course.

But believe it or not, they’re right. The majority of people are still using ChatGPT just to ask some silly questions, not fully utilizing its power.

When in reality, it’s super simple to become a ChatGPT maestro and learn how to use it properly.

And the best part? You don’t need to buy any overpriced course to do so, all you need is one prompt.

And I will share this prompt with you in just a minute.

ChatGPT’s full potential without buying a course

The secret behind this technique is a prompt, and it’s a simple one.

Prompt: Create a curated list of use cases for ChatGPT, each thoughtfully designed to align with my occupation. This list will serve as my personalized guide, enabling me to leverage ChatGPT’s capabilities in various aspects of my occupation. Organize this list into 10 distinct sections sorted by their relevance to my occupation. In each section, construct a table with columns for “Use Case” and “Example Request”. Each section will contain 5 use cases examples. The “Example Request” will be written in the form of a direct request to ChatGPT. Begin by asking me about my occupation, and based on it fill in the interests, goals, challenges I’m facing. It’s imperative that you follow the request for 10 sections and 5 use case examples in each section.

Okay, maybe it’s not that simple. So let’s look at what this prompt does:

  • It asks for your profession
  • It gives you a list of suggestions based on your profession.
  • Each suggestion tells you how ChatGPT can help you (based on your profession).

And now, let’s see how it works in action. Let’s assume I’m a seasoned novel writer, and I want to know how to use ChatGPT to write books faster.

Telling ChatGPT about my profession

First, I use the prompt I just shared.

Then, I start by telling ChatGPT about my job and what I’m trying to achieve. I can be as descriptive as I want, and the more descriptive I am, the better.

In the response, ChatGPT gives me a list of suggestions where it can help me (along with simple prompt examples).

All suggestions are grouped into sections, so I can easily see all the areas of my work where ChatGPT can assist me.

If I like any particular area, I can just ask for more suggestions.

Asking for more suggestions

And without any hesitation, ChatGPT delivers.

More suggestions

The beauty of this method is that I don’t have to think anymore.

I used to spend hours thinking about how to use ChatGPT. No one gave me a personalized suggestion list so I had to do all the thinking.

With this method, all of that changes. I simply describe what I do, and I know how AI can help.

Is This Method Bulletproof?

So you might be thinking. Does it give me a list of all suggestions? Isn’t there any other way I can use ChatGPT?

The answer is no, the suggestions are not absolute. They give you a good starting point and ideas so you can see how ChatGPT can benefit you.

But you can still change these suggestions, or come up with your own.

Personally, I use this method daily to come up with ways to use ChatGPT in various professions. I’ve written over 10,000 prompts myself and I couldn’t do it without this one prompt.
