This Month’s Vocal Writing Challenge is Too Enticing to Pass Up

So, I joined to participate in June’s $10,000 “Fantasy Prologue.”

For the past few months, I’ve been reading more and more articles about Medimites participating in the monthly Vocal Writing Challenge. After signing up for Vocal.Media, and giving it a try, I completely understand the interest in the platform!

I never gave it serious consideration in the past but kept the platform in my mind as an option. However, this month I felt compelled to start my membership.

This month’s challenge is “ The Fantasy Prologue,” and it struck a chord with me. One of the first fiction stories I ever wrote is a fantasy, The Queen’s Awakening: Retribution. (In fact, I’m overdue releasing the follow-on to it.)

In my book, I have a minor character who is a dragon and fit perfectly in this month’s challenge. It made me start wondering,

Where did he come from?

What perspective can he add to the main story?

From there, the questions spiraled out, and before I knew it, I had enough backbone for the story to take shape.
