This Is Why I Unsubscribed From Your Medium Emails

I didn’t sign up to be spammed

I open my laptop to check my email for Medium only to be dismayed by the sheer volume of notifications.

I close it and take a walk instead.

It is a combination of draft submissions from the pubs I am editor for as well as notifications from writers to whom I subscribe.

I follow writers who publish daily and those who stick to a slower publishing rate.

However, I prefer to keep a list of those I love to read in lieu of subscribing because, frankly, some writers are notorious for spamming my inbox multiple times a day.

It’s annoying.

What’s the strategy here?

There’s no strategy other than not being mindful of your loyal readers.

What’s the point of overwhelming them with multiple articles a day when you can space them over a week?

So I unsubscribed and you lost a loyal follower.
