This Is The Most Effortless Way To Change Your Life

How to change without fighting with your own head

Changing is so f*cking difficult.

The human body is designed for survival. So, if you are surviving now, your mind won’t want to change anything!

  • Your trivial mind is telling you: You are alive, and you have your stomach full, why would we change anything? We stay like this!

For that reason, trying to change your thoughts and beliefs could be a waste of time (unless you are in a Tony Robbins seminar). Mainly because your own brain doesn’t want to change, so it will work against you.

Now that we have discarded to change our brain from the inside (changing thoughts and beliefs), we only got one option left:

Changing The Game?

Right now, you are playing your own video game. In that game, you have:

  • Challenges.
  • A job (hopefully).
  • People to interact with.
  • An environment.

All those things make you behave in one specific way. The things you have in your game are literally modeling how you act and what decisions you make.

  • For example, if you hate your job but love your friends, your normal behavior will be to take your phone during working hours and talk with your friends, or try to meet them as frequently as possible.

But if you loved your work, maybe you’d spend less time with your friends. That could start a chain reaction of changes, leaving you in a completely different situation than when you started.

Let’s place a God in Animal Crossing

So you can understand it better, let’s use an example. Let’s take a character from one actual video game and place it into another one.

  • For example, let’s take Kratos, from God of War.

Kratos is a semi-god that lives in a world full of monsters that want to kill him.

The poor guy doesn’t have a break. He is swinging his sword and cutting heads 24/7.

This is a normal day in his life:

Now, imagine that we kidnap him (I honestly don’t know how) and take him to the Animal Crossing Game, giving him a small house in the village:

We just placed an assassin in a village where everyone likes to talk and go fishing from time to time.

Now, do you really think that Kratos won’t change there? My ass!

His life will change completely. He now cannot kill beasts (except small fishes), and he can’t engage in combat with other gods. In other words, the things that he spent the most time with are completely gone.

He, inevitably, will need to change his life.

This example is an exaggeration of the changes that can occur in the real life. To be more practical, let’s see what things you can change to spark a whole chain reaction in your life.

How To Change Effortlessly

If you want to change in the most effortless way possible, you’ll have to change parts of your game. Those changes could spark a chain reaction, making a lot more things in your life change along the way.

One that has proven useful for a lot of people is to spend days in complete solitude. When you are alone with your thoughts, the spark of change is ignited:

“We need solitude, because when we’re alone, we’re free from obligations, we don’t need to put on a show, and we can hear our own thoughts.” — Tamim Ansary.

The Best Ideas

This is often put into practice by Bill Gates. When he needs a very good idea, he literally takes a bag of books and goes into a small wooden house in the mountain.

He usually spends one week there, losing contact with any other human being for that amount of time.

The solitude allows him to regain touch with his own mind, reaching high levels of focus and achieving things that were impossible to do in his ordinary house.

In other words, something as simple as renting an Airbnb for a few days and spending those days alone could change your life for the better.

After all, you only have to change parts of your game, of your ordinary life. When you start doing that, you are not only changing the outside: You are changing yourself too.

That’s all for today!
