I will come to the point. I made $ 125 in December without writing a single article.

I went back to India in December for a winter vacation. Since I was meeting my family and friends after 2 years, I spent a lot of time with them. I also attended one of my friend’s weddings. Therefore, I did not get much time to write.

However, I was surprised to see my earnings. Even though I did not spend any time on Medium, I was earning money through my previous work.

This is the first time I have earned money without working for it. I did not write articles and yet medium paid me.

I finally got the feeling of earning passive income.

The bulk of my earnings is coming through the one article that was curated 4 months ago. I am still reaping the benefits. This is the article that made a huge impact on my writing career:

I did not know that you can earn money through other members’ subscriptions. Currently, 10 people have become Medium members through my page. So I am earning a fraction of their subscription money every month without doing anything. My goal is to raise that number to 100 by the end of 2022.

To be honest, I don’t know how I did it. I kept hoping for success and it happened. There was a time when I was not even earning a dollar but I did not give up. I kept writing and finally succeeded. You only need one viral article to make an impact on Medium. The hard part is to get that one viral article.

My advice is to keep writing and hope for the best. You don’t know which one of your articles will go viral. So you have to write a lot in order to get that one viral article.
