This is For the Soldiers

Lest we forget

Many people today want to disrespect the soldier. I like to remind you that it’s the leadership that sends them to the unspeakable hell they go through. The soldier only performs their duty. It is through their sacrifice that we can moan, bitch, and complain today.

They are the ones that helped make us free. You can’t know what they went through because you were not there. No matter what is going on in this world, we cannot forget or ignore them. For all those that have served in the past, present, and future, this is for you. I, for one, will never forget.

They started on the east coast

Towards the foreign shores

All so full of life, but off to war

Many wouldn’t come home no, no, more

They fought, and they died

So we all could be free

They went across lonely seas

Sailors, pilots, and those brave marines

— -

On a hill or a terrible beach

Souls in arms on through the breach

Falling into a steel rain

Never to go home again

— -

They were strong kept fighting on

So many couldn’t be saved

All that they lost

Is with them now in the grave

— -

This is for the soldiers

Each and every one

They gave that sacrifice

So that war was won

— -

So fly your flags

Show them it’s not in vain

Hold on to their memories

No more war, let peace reign

This is for the soldiers

Even the ones today standing tall

All I can do is pray

That you never, ever, get that call
