This Canva Feature Makes You Stand Out On Social Media
Capitalize on it before everyone turns it into a trend.

Instagram is getting more crowded than ever.
Most Instagram users also know about Canva templates.
So, when people are not posting Reels. The posts on the explorer page blend like a massive puzzle piece. If you don’t know the colors of your favorite creators, they will get lost in the sea of sameness.
It is a challenge for anyone to stand out. But this new Canva trick will make a difference.
I’ll walk you through the creation process.
The trick works for both Canva Free & Pro accounts.
Awesome. I know, right?
But if you want to be fancy and customize the intensity and direction of the feature, you will need Canva Pro.
The cost of Canva Pro is cheaper than Netflix Premium. The design app has a pricing of $12.99 per month. This price works out to $120 per year.
When I first began using Canva, I was all for the free profile until I saw the templates locked away. And now, I also have access to customizing the element I am about to share with you.
Here’s the Process to Create the Stand Out Design.
Please note:
I broke down the trick learnt from Steph J. Gilbert into baby steps, so it seems long; hard even. But it is pretty simple when you try it in your Canva profile.
- In Canva, click ‘Customize’ and enter the pixel dimensions of 2000 by 250.
- Change the background color of the banner to the one you like most.
- Add your text box and enter your short sentence. Extend the text box.
- Copy the short sentence. Press your space bar twice and paste the phrase.
- Repeat double spacing and pasting the phrase again.
- Make sure your text box is longer than the dimensions of the banner. (Thus, a piece of your short sentence will be cut off at the start and end of the design).
- Click ‘Animate’ and select the basic effects called Drift.
- Click the controls in the Drift effect and turn intensity to the max (this option is only available to Canva Pro users).
- Save it as .mp4 for Instagram posts or .gif for websites, emails or stickers you can add to Stories or Reels.
- Upload the .gif and .mp4 file back into your Canva account to use it on your social media content.
There you have it!
