This 1 Simple Quality Can Make Your Writing 10x More Attractive to Readers
“I wish I had a big butt.”
I laughed my ass off when I saw this video below.
If you don’t know, Drake did a live podcast interview with this girl named Bobbi — called the Really Good Podcast.
She’s gotten very popular lately.
She’s done interviews with other rappers such as Lil Yachty that’ll make you think she blows funny gas at you through the screen.
But that’s not the only reason she’s gotten so popular. Another reason why people can’t get enough of Bobbi is her interviewing style. She’s blunt. She’s straightforward. She’s stone-faced. Yet, she asks the funniest yet random questions most interviewers wouldn’t ask celebrities.
The beginning quote I wrote at the top is when she asked what Drake likes in a girl. Drake then asked her what is her favorite physical quality about her, and she bluntly said, “My butt” in such a blunt yet unserious way.😂
Bobbi has a special transparency to her that causes celebrities to act like they’re at home.
It’s genius when you think about it.
Her cold transparency forces Drake to answer questions in ways you wouldn’t see in a traditional interview. You get a whole different side of Drake when you watch it, and I’m not even a huge fan.
Seriously, this interview will make you think all other interviews are trash.
Think about it.
What are the best books you’ve ever read?
I can’t read your mind, but I know damn well those books had killer transparency. So much so they were easy to read and resonated with you emotionally.
Think about children’s books.
They’re simple. They have 1 sentence pages with a vibrant picture in the background. If I told you to write down the name of a children’s book you loved, I’m confident you could do it.
Here’s why transparency is a HUGE part of writing:
With all that said, you don’t want your writing to be too blunt. You can’t just write The Cat in the Hat and expect readers to jump for joy.
Ernest Hemingway is a perfect example of this.
His writing style is simplistic as heck. Short sentences. I used to hate his writing style, but that’s a huge reason why he’s regarded as one of the best authors in the world.
People are beyond attracted to transparency.
Blunt people like Bobbi can seem like assholes when you first meet them, but they’re attractive because they aren’t going to kiss your ass like most people you meet.
Don’t let your writing kiss the reader’s ass. Force them to think one way about you.
Always remember:
One basic sentence can say a thousand words.
Or in this case:
“I wish I had a big butt.”😂
Write on.
