Thirty Percent Of Minorities Being For Trump Is Hard To Believe
Their votes could make a difference
There are minorities for Trump
While Joe Biden leads Donald Trump among minority voters in the polls, it is hard to believe that Trump could still receive somewhere around a thirty percent favorable rating among the racial minorities. Democrats for Biden and Republicans against Trump have a difficult time understanding how this group of people could think that Trump has been good for them as President of the United States.
Even though Trump claims that he is not racist, his actions and words tell a different story. He has repeatedly demeaned people of racial minority backgrounds. He has called them names and used derogatory terms against them. He has said that the countries of their origin are despicable places. He has seldom spoken against racism and has seemed to favor White supremacy.
Actually, Trump has also bullied and demeaned White people as well.
It is amazing that thirty percent of the minority voters seem to support Trump in spite of anything he does or says against their communities.
Although there are young Latino voters who are campaigning for Biden, there are also groups of young Latinos who have decided to support Trump.
Black people are another group which has a larger than expected number of Trump supporters. They overlook the fact that Trump has been critical of the Black Lives Matter Movement. He has condemned the peaceful protests which were held to bring attention to the problems of racism and police brutality toward Black men since the killing of George Floyd. Yes, some of the protests have turned into riots with looting and other criminal behavior, which has been unfortunate. That has added fuel to Trump’s fire.
While the majority of Asian American and Pacific Islander (AAPI) voters are supporting Biden and the Democrats in this election, there are also AAPI people who will vote for Trump.
With the racist words of Trump and other Republicans, minorities should be having questions about supporting them. Although the Republican leaders claim they are against racism, they show those tendencies.
Minority voters could make a big difference in this election, but they are not united in their support. With possibly a third for Trump, it is still an uphill road for Biden and Harris.
Since most minorities would agree that Biden and the Democratic Party would be more beneficial for their interests in this election, it is important to get their voters to vote.
