Polyglot Poetry

Thinking of You, I Pack the Energy inside my Verses with Starling Celerity!

Short poetry verses in Urdu, Roman Urdu Script (for Hindi readers), and English.

I write poetry in Saraiki, Punjabi, Urdu, and English. I have never shared my non-English work at Medium, but after reading a few poets’ multilingual poetry, it encouraged me to write this post. I hope you’ll enjoy it.

Heartache caused by your love

Dard-e-Dil ki Dawa kay liye jab gaye ham Tabib-e-shehr k pass kambakhat wo bhee tera aashiq nikla

for the heartache (caused by your love) when I went to the (most famous) doctor he (poor soul) was also suffering from it

Without you, my life is an arid desert

hmari ik mukhtasir si kahani terey bina weeran o bayaba.n ik dasht hay zindagani

my life’s story is simple: without you, it is an arid desert

My life’s analysis

Doing my life’s analysis, I concluded this: I couldn’t have reached here (and succeeded this much) if you had not been with me

In your wait

dil-e-ashkbar hay intashar mein deedar-e-yaar kay mustaqil intazar mein

my crying heart is disrupted by an everlasting wait to see you again
