Think, Where Is Your Life Really Heading?

Whatever you do, you'll end up somewhere

Make sure you're happy with where you’ll end up.

I hope not to distract you from what you're doing right now. However, I just invite you to check where you're actually heading with what you're doing.

I don't know much.

However, I do know the fact that, whatever action we take, we're going to end up somewhere. Whether it’s in our best interest or not, it just depends on the action we take at this moment.

The set of actions we take right now will determine whether the fruits are bitter or sweet in the end.

It’s always good to take radical action. However. What is the grander vision? How does it fit into the larger narrative of your life?

What and how much will you actually achieve by taking that action.

I'm actually writing this post because I've taken action in the past without really getting anywhere.

Like running on a treadmill, I would work hard as I wanted, yet stay in the same spot.

This is why I'm quite vigilant on exactly what I would achieve after taking action. I also find that it's difficult to take action when we don't have a grander vision or purpose to pull us.

Having a higher purpose when taking action, fuels us with emotional strength, which helps us in going through obstacles and adversities that are inevitable on the journey

Instead of blindly taking action, ask yourself what the end result looks like.

For instance, it's great to write a story on medium, but what is it leading to on a grander scale. How will taking action play out in the long term?

Perhaps, five years down the line Medium will become a reliable customer base for you? To build an audience base to support your writing career or e-commerce business?

I'm not sure of what your grander vision might be. However, taking the time to set your vision in stone will allow you to determine which actions you should be taking in the present moment.

For example:

I recently had a monthly life review (a session where I sit myself down and ask myself what’s working and not working in my life).

Upon taking down notes and filing up categorized sections of an A4, I had a wake-up call when I realized that my grander vision had changed. Because it changed, my medium strategy changed. As a result, the way I approach my writing had changed.

I hope you can see that, by changing the grander vision, our actions and priorities in the present moment can change. This is important, especially important because it aligns our actions in accordance with our end goal.

Anyway, I don't want to keep filling this story up with too much unnecessary fluff. As long as you get the point and the information helps you somehow, I'm happy.

Closing Notes.

To close this brief story, I'd like to finish with a quote that I often say to myself. It’s something that gives me a lot of reassurance at the moment.

As long as you can see the mountain peak from the distance, you're going in the right direction.

Whatever you do, wherever you go dear, never lose sight of the mountain peak. It's the one thing that will keep you on track and on purpose, even if it’s foggy.

Thank you for reading and being here, take care of yourself and your family. Have a beautiful day ahead.
