FUTURE
Think of All That Is Possible
Have you thought about all the positive and exciting things that have happened to man on earth in the last two hundred years?
Have you thought about how the living conditions for people on earth have changed for many in the last 150 years?
Have you thought about how the material conditions for billions of people have changed positively in the last 70 years?
Have you thought about the revolutionary changes in information exchange, communication between people, and communication technology, where a lot has changed in the last ten years?
Have you considered that in our time we are facing an important upheaval and renewal when it comes to man’s values and humanity?
Do you see the need to bring about significant changes in the ways people deal with each other, the ways societies function and take care of the weakest in society, and the ways nations and states meet each other and handle conflicts between themselves?
Have you thought through these questions?
Few of us have, but we have all been aware for a long time that the potential for improvement in the aforementioned areas is enormous.
There are many of us who think that the time has come when man must give maximum effort, intellectually, morally, and emotionally, to create balance and a just social order.
We should not be surprised by what is happening.
What happens happens both despite us, because of us, and without us doing anything to make it happen.
We call it development around the world. Development and what happens in the world happen because of us, despite what we do.
We live in the world, and when we live in the world, we are the world.
We are the world, and we have our share of responsibility for the world.
We expand our consciousness by being where we are.
We live in a limited area of reality, on a level where we live in closed rooms and go around in circles, in an existence and in a story that ceaselessly expands consciousness.
We live in a time in history where much of what was not possible before has become possible now. Much of it has not always been possible.
Most of the important things that have happened in human history have happened in the last hundred to two hundred years.
It is a substantial change, and it is a principle that has come into force that is unique because it is about the development of humanity.
Just think of all the technical aids, important technical innovations, and gimmicks that have become part of everyday life now. Just think about how today we can record our thoughts, write down our thoughts, and remember what we need to remember.
We can communicate effectively, we can reach out to other people, and we can convey what we want.
In our houses, it can be warm and safe, and with a few effective measures and coordinating technological and economic efforts from the parts of the world that have the most, we can create good framework conditions in everyday life for everyone.
Think of all the things that humans couldn’t do before and that we can do now.
Think of all the problem-solving that we can do now with the help of everything we have from earlier times.
Consider that we stand on the shoulders of all previous generations; we stand on the shoulders of ingenious, creative people who have invented and created things that people benefit from.
Think of everything that has happened in the food supply, in agriculture, and in the manufacture of food—all the opportunities that humans must provide food, shelter, and heat for all the people who live on earth.
Consider that we will arrange all this for the best of people.
Think about how society is structured—how society is put together and governed by laws, rules, and arrangements—so that society is a good place to be for everyone.
Think of the international cooperation and communication between heads of state and the common interest that people have in creating a society and a future that is meaningful and good for everyone.
Think of all the possibilities.
Don’t think about everything that is not possible.
Imagine that it is possible to create a world characterized by safe framework conditions and peaceful coexistence—a world where children and adults can go to bed with peace of mind and sleep safely until they wake up the next morning.
Think that it is possible to create a world that is safe for all people to live in.
It is possible.
It works.
Don’t think it won’t work.
Most people might think that it won’t work.
It’s wrong; you mustn’t think like that.
