Things Are Shifting on Medium. Now is a Great Time to Become a Paid Member

And I’ve Got the Link You Can Use to Join

I started writing on Medium on Aug. 4, 2021, and became a member from day one. I immediately found value on the website, and it spoke with me.

It said, “Julius.”

Then I answered, “Huh?”

Then, it said, “You’ve been looking for something to do with your spare time and now you’ve found it. This is the site for you. Don’t fart around. Go ahead and join.”

And that’s exactly what I did.

I’ve been pretty much fully engaged as well. It took a while to get used to things because, in August and September, I wrote two articles per month. Then in October, I wrote 18 articles, but one article went viral. That was pretty awesome.

Shown are the author’s highest viewed articles. The top 18 articles are in this image.

For a new writer, it was thrilling to have 34,000 people view and 13,000 read an article on this platform. Those were primarily external views but, for a new writer on Medium, I was pleased.

Now, eight months later, I try to do what many have suggested. They say write to your audience. I’ve picked up a few followers and I look at what resonates with them through the stats page.

What I am also finding is there are quite a few people who have read articles I have written but aren’t Medium members. Why is that? (((he asks with a sad face))). Can I convince you to join?

External views are great for running up the stats page numbers, but it’s the internal, paid members who bring the most value to readers and writers. Ok, mostly the writers. The more paid members who read the material, the greater the financial reward writers earn.

So, here’s my big ask. If you are in a country where you can join Medium, would you please join? And if you join, here’s my link you can use:

Can’t you imagine how happy I will be if you join Medium through my link? I will get an itsy-bitsy amount from each member who joins through my link. But check this. We will be connected. And, I’ll start writing for you. Please join me.
