Opinions

  • Criticism should be acknowledged but not necessarily internalized, as it is often a reflection of others' negativity rather than one's own shortcomings.
  • Alcohol, while socially accepted, can be a detriment to mental health when not consumed responsibly and can contribute to a cycle of depression and stress.
  • The act of binge eating, particularly foods high in sodium, may be comforting in the short term but can have long-term negative effects on mental health.
  • Solitude can be beneficial in moderation, but excessive isolation, especially during times of sadness or depression, is counterproductive and can exacerbate negative feelings.
  • The article implies that individuals have the power to manage their responses to potential depressive triggers and that making mindful choices can help mitigate the impact of depression.

We all have crossed our path with this disease at one point or another. Depression not only breaks some of us from inside but is also responsible for claiming some lives.

The problem is not the problem, but the actual problem arises on how to deal with it.

The above line looks more like a tongue twister, but it is a bitter truth. We all are stuck with many problems in our life, and yet we can see some of us can tackle them very well, but others are only making things worse.

Below I have mentioned some Mistakes which are Increasing depression.

Taking all Criticism Seriously

We all hate to get criticism, but sometimes it is ok to hear a negative comment and ignore it. The world is becoming full of negative people, and it is seen everywhere from social media to a social gathering, from a wedding to a funeral, we can see all negative comments keep on haunting us.

People will keep on finding ways to degrade you. They may target you based on your color, career option, lifestyle, or even any new initiative you are working on, so listen to them, smile and move on, as you are responsible for your success and failures.

Consuming Alcohol

Yes, it is a general statement as almost everyone speaks about the ill effects of alcohol on the body. But when it comes to our mind, this fermented drink has always shown results like loss of creativity, numbness, and generally, people in the wake of depression get addicted to it. Only getting more depressed by realizing the amount of money they have wasted, and the brain, as well as the body, gets more stressed out during the withdrawal phase.

Alcohol is neither a problem nor a solution, but it is a potion that works as a medicine when consumed very responsibly.

Binge Eating

To eat our favorite meal helps in releasing dopamine, and it brings a smile to us. But, we fail to distinguish between healthy and favorite meals. Eating high sodium foods might are a carrier of depression.
