These Are My Wildest Dreams

In my dreams, I live the life I’ve always wanted.

I keep a few scattered recollections of my dreams in a journal. Some entries are a page long, capturing vivid details like the colors of the sky. Some are one sentence long. Despite the length, rereading my entries is endlessly fascinating.

Most involve travel. One of my dream journal entries documented a day at the amusement park. The sunset was locked in its position throughout the dream like I was visiting a town where twilight was eternal.

In another entry, I was at a resort on a deserted island. Much of the dream was spent alone, stretched out on a swaying hammock. The sun was bright and bold.

Rereading these entries makes me believe that my heart’s begging for adventure. I haven’t been to a beach in years. But, it’s about time to feel the tides tickle my toes again.

Thank you to Lucy Dan 蛋小姐 (she/her/她) for the dope short form theme! Interested in writing your own? Check it out in her post:
