These 8 tools are my non-negotiables in business
Helping me run a thriving content creation business
When you’re running a business, you’re going to use tools. They save time, save money, and help you hold onto your sanity.
Why make it difficult on yourself, right?
These can be websites, software, apps, whatever. If I had to choose only 8tools that help me run my business, these would be those apps.
8 must-have tools that run my business
Here they are…
1. Google Docs
Ok, so boring #1 is Google Docs. This is super simple. I am a writer, I need a word processing software and Google Docs is free. I used MS Office for years and have no complaints but, Google Docs is just as good.
I love the voice typing feature.
Within Google Docs, you can also access Google Sheets, Google Slides, and Google Forms.
2. Notepad
Really simple. I have to notate everything. If I don’t, I’ll just forget. So the notepad app is something I use often, like every day.
I use it on my phone and computer.
3. Jasper AI
Jasper AI is this is a new tool I’ve been using for the past few months now. It’s an AI writer. It’s a huge time saving, helping you write your copy a lot faster.
You can use it for client projects, your own website copy, press releases, long form content, whatever.
The Boss Mode plan which is what I recommend you get, is only around $59/month.
There’s a free trial for you here to test it out.
4. ConvertKit
ConvertKit is one of my favorite email marketing providers.
I haven’t fully switched over to Systeme yet as I’m still testing it but, Systeme is going to be a good contender, saving me around $500/month on email marketing, webinar software, course software, and more.
ConvertKit is great because they have so much built into the email marketing platform.
You can create landing pages, and forms, run an email course, autoresponder, etc.
It’s great and very user-friendly.
Email marketing is great because it can pour loads of money into your pocket 24/7. It’s great for growing your audience, running your sequences and funnels on autopilot, and sending campaign emails to your list.
I wish I used it more but, when I do use it, chefs kiss.
5. Phone timer
I use this to set time blocks to work uninterrupted.
I’m no pro at this yet but, I’m getting better.
It definitely helps me work for a good chunk of time without bouncing around from browser to browser or taking a micro-break on my phone.
6. Canva
Canva is a graphic design tool. I use it to create graphics for various projects I’m working. I also use it to make Pinterest pins for my pins and client pins.
7. Teachable
I am currently using Teachable for my courses. I want to switch over to Systeme but haven’t pulled the trigger yet.
Teachable is pretty easy to use.
They support courses, memberships, and coaching. You can also have affiliates, they manage payments, and e-delivery to your students.
8. Siteground
I turn to Siteground any time I want to build a new website. I have had many web hosts but Siteground is my absolute favorite. They have great customer service and I really love the user interface.
Bluehost comes in second place.
Takeaways
I use these tools every week in my business. They really help me manage my company. I’d love to hear about some of the tools, websites, and resources you use.
