Playing Wordle

I came across an intriguing game while I was plagiarising articles for my daily blog — “One of a Kind”. A couple hundred Command C + V’s later, I read about this 5-lettered word guessing game — wordle.

After learning and researching a little about wordle, I had two initial reservations. Firstly, I won’t be able to use the words hustle or culture, which would most likely dampen my productivity levels. Secondly, wordle is a wordplay on Josh Wardle — the creator’s name. This makes him a narcissist and an attention-craving child.

But I decided to give him the benefit of the doubt since I’ve also been called a narcissist in the past — But I learned from my mistakes and now I’m perfect and better than all my naysayers.

During my first attempt, my guesses were quack and jazzy — They’re worth the most points on Scrabble. Turns out, wordle doesn’t work like thatI lost instantly.

After hurling expletives and boycotting the NY times on all my socials, I cooled down and spent the next few minutes researching the word caulk through my Alexa — The initial search results were not a sight to behold.

But minor setbacks and caulk shots aside, I have managed to incorporate the daily Wordle in my daily blogs.

Benefits — I now know what that user meant when they called me a ‘faultfinding petulant cynic’, but they probably just commented that for the likes.

Negatives — People were not too happy when they found out my ‘How to make a 6-digit salary’ article was using the rupee as the currency of compensation.

Biting Off More Than I Can Chew (1/2)

As a writer I always advocated niching down and writing content that would cater to a loyal audience — I was wrong. There is more money to be made when you know very little about everything — because many people know nothing about a lot of stuff.

Cryptocurrency is one of the things people know nothing about, according to Yahoo Finance — so I tapped into this market as soon as the bull run peaked. To ensure I was as authentic as I could be, I conducted no prior research on my own as well.

People responded positively to my reviews, especially since I made the type of bold predictions that respectable crypto experts usually shy away from — The secret is to use auxiliary verbs at the start of the title.

Here are a few examples

  • Can you make $14 billion with a $5 initial deposit?
  • Will you be able to make $14 billion with a $5 initial deposit?
  • Did you really think you could make $14 billion with a $5 deposit?

All 3 are separate articles that can be found on the ‘One of a Kind’ archives.

Benefits — Gave me the idea to diversify my investments in order to tackle the 7% growth in inflation.

Negatives — My portfolio is down 49%.

Biting Off More Than I Can Chew (2/2)

Self-Help and personal finance articles is another niche I’ve tapped into. Luckily for me, the ones who know nothing about this category are also the ones writing about it, so I fit right in.

It’s advised that you base your writing in this niche on a typical rag to riches Hollywood movie — get people to resonate with your failures in the start, then make minor improvements that will fuel your self-growth and eventually gather a loyal fan-base that will keep coming back even if you lose the plot.

Take a look at my progression-

  • ‘I only made $0.96 this month… I failed’.
  • ‘How I tripled my earnings to $3 in 1 month’
  • I am now a Top Writer — You will read everything I write’

Benefits — My failure generates revenue.

Negatives — I’m better than this.
