WHEN WORDS AND PAINTINGS COMBINE PART TWO

There’s Optimism in the Air Today

A sonnet

“Optimism” painting by Monoreena Acharjee Majumdar

This icy chill, I feel it in my bones but not for long when looking out today at golden rays against these blue unknowns most certainly the spring is on its way.

Amazing how one’s spirit sure does rise to see these painted flowers drenched in light. Exploding gold in fields of blue, my eyes look further up these stems, green leaves in sight.

There’s optimism in the air today seen rising with new growth and glory both. The chill of winter’s come and gone away, as better days are here, I make this oath

to ring away cold winter’s doldrums fast and hear that peal of vanquished ghosts at last.

Written in response to Literary Impulses newest series of prompts. Part two instructions with Monoreena Acharjee Majumdar;’s comments on this wonderful piece of art we are writing about are in the link below.

Plenty of friends and poets on the platform are contributing beautiful work but there is always room for more.
