There’s No Time — Relatively Speaking, It Doesn’t Exist at All
GiaB writing prompt #2–2 time

Dear clock Why do you race ahead of me? I learned to read you as a child With no idea of when or where Your hands would take me
Your numbers one to twelve Toll the bells of seconds Midday, midnight, Mark the march of minutes While regiments of hours Form a phalanx Ready to defend their rigid rules
Meanwhile we human fools Acquiesce and bless the days and nights Or curse their passing Caught up in this abstract concept Invisible, intangible, infuriating
I shall kill Time Tear up the calendar Remove my watch Flow with the seasons Gather good reasons to Catch a ride on the Cycles of moon and Mother Earth Each sunrise shall I rejoice, raise my voice
Time is measurable Only in motion A vast invisible ocean waits In the stillness beyond
I’ll meet you there.
Thanks for the reminder Jenine Bsharah Baines — in the nick of time!
Thank you also to Victor Sarkin and the GiaB team for your support. Hope I make the cut as I was running out of ….. time.
