There’s No Hope America

I cannot see how America can be saved.

When I woke up this morning, Russia was at war.

It wasn’t surprising. Our President had forewarned us that war was likely, despite negotiations to prevent the death and destruction that would prevail.

I didn’t think George W. Bush was a great President, but he became great for me when I read his statement today: “Russia’s attack on Ukraine constitutes the gravest security crisis on the European continent since World War II. I join the international community in condemning Vladimir Putin’s unprovoked and unjustified invasion of Ukraine,” Bush said. “The American government and people must stand in solidarity with Ukraine and the Ukrainian people as they seek freedom and the right to choose their own future.” Source

It was interesting, if that is the right word, that Putin oversaw nuclear tests last weekend. It is rumored Russia has in excess of 6000 nukes. I guess that meets the need for the destruction of the world, even if no other country’s nuclear arsenal uses them. I’m wondering whether we should all simply stop worrying about environmental change. There won’t be anything left to change.

The political divisions around the world have become far more evident, if always being there, but faced with a cold war between Russia and America and NATO countries, and great economies will suffer. Imagine oil at $150 bucks a barrel. $8 a gallon of gas.

But let’s talk about America. President Biden, somehow, thankfully, has managed to regain the trust of our European allies. No small feat. The last President, now a wanna-be dictator, and his cohorts, had dedicated themselves to break up NATO. There were accusations that some countries weren’t paying their fair share, and this was hurting America, the wealthiest, most powerful country in the world, I believe. I’m not sure how that happened if every other country was ripping us off. Sometimes friendships are not about money, but about trust.

Trust. That’s a hell of a word.

Do we trust our President Biden enough to get behind him in a time of grave circumstances? I for one, do. I consider myself one of his men. I like to think I share a mutual bond of trust with him. President Biden has never been good at speaking, overcoming speech difficulties in his youth, but there is nothing feeble or weak about the President. He’s good to look on, presidential, honorable. He has dignity. Regrets. I don’t see any President of the United States in a routine job.

Things happen in the world where everything a man is, cannot be overlooked. A President must be able to conquer his nerves. Take expert advice. And above all, protect each man and women serving as he or she would protect his or her own child. In President Biden, I believe that of him.

Our previous President is a traitor. A man who would sell his best friend out. A man who has no understanding about anything worthwhile in life. The very last man any soldier would want to be with in the trenches. The kind of man who will tell you one thing and do the other when shit happens. Trump, I assure you, will not die a content man.

Listening to Fox news, Hannity, Pompeo, Carlson, and Trump-et mouth, all snake oil salespeople, Putin, I’m sure, believes we are a weakened nation. Our resolve to be together is diminished to such an extent, other dictators can seize their chance to exploit situations. All these men, and most of the Republican Party, are unaccustomed to examining their own motives. They, instead, count up nails and rivets, eager to pin a democrat to the cross more than save the world from thousands of dead, innocent people.

I am despairing, lost hope, to ever think the two parties will ever work together again. The nation is split. I feel nothing but repugnance for Fox news, its soothsayers, and the fragrance they’ve spread in this country.

What folly, America.

When tens of thousands of men, women, and children, lie on Ukraine soil, will the weak-minded men, with no will of their own, the followers rather than leaders, what will they say, who will they blame?

Of course, it won’t be the good old, smart old, savvy old dictator Vladimir Putin.

Lately, I perpetually find myself in tears. How does this happen? How are people so blindsided? It is inexpressible how much this now deformed society we call America, its shamefulness, dispirited nature, lack of pride in compassion, and our general feeling of deterioration has been propelled by a man so weak, so corrupted, so lacking in principle, knowledge, has split us asunder. I want Trump jailed for treason, along with other people who have lessened our ability to act as a United States.

God save America and God save President Biden.
