There’s a Writer Here Who You Has Probably Grabbed Your Attention and There’s a Reason Why
She’s chosen to master something and run with it

When I first began reading in quantity on Medium, there were writers who immediately stood out to me.
I guess you have experienced the same.
You tell Medium what topics you are interested in and Medium shows you stories in those areas. The algorithm will also be guided by the things that grab your attention and you click on, even if you haven’t explicitly chosen that topic area.
Well, this particular writer showed up in my suggested reading because she wrote about the topics I was interested in.
Of course, I followed her. The advice she gives in her articles is a goldmine of out-of-the-box tips on standing out from the crowd, expanding your reach, and enhancing your productivity. And her personal essays on life, entrepreneurship, and parenting are beautifully written, connecting deeply with the reader.
But there was something else.
She had mastered the art of getting noticed.
Not just for the writing advice that she offered or for the success that she was experiencing and sharing about, but because she’s an incredible writer on a variety of topics.
That writer is Kristina God, a proud holder of 17 Top Writer badges and a Top 1,000 Writer on all of Medium.
She had mastered the art of getting noticed.
And so, when she invited readers to join her first ever bootcamp last November, I leapt at the opportunity. Places were given on a first-come-first-served basis and I was just there at the right time.
Honestly, I rarely hit the jackpot through luck, but this time was something else, and that became all the more apparent during the month that followed.
So, what changed for me?
During the month of November, I, too, started to get noticed:
- I started to get incredible feedback on the work I was producing.
- I started to grow the community around me.
- I started to connect with my voice and understand how it was unique to me. I started to enjoy writing all the more because of it.
- Knowing my voice made my writing just happen, and people connected with me through it.
- My stories began to get distributed more.
- My views, reads and earnings increased at a fast yet steady rate.
- My following doubled.
Since the bootcamp ended, Kristina has continued to be there as a cheerleader and mentor. Her support has never ceased.
I have now trebled my following and my rate of distribution has been at around 66% for the last month or so.
I know that many people think that being distributed doesn’t count for much but if you want to write on topics other than “Writing on Medium”, then regular distribution WILL get you seen by a wider audience.
The Big News
Kristina has opened up the doors to a brand new Kickstarter Bootcamp. You can find out everything here.
In fact, I am almost sorry to say that it is already nearly full and may be so by the time this is published.
However, there’s even more exciting news!
The publication that I am an editor for, owned by the incredible and extremely generous Robert Ralph, New Writers Welcome, is going to sponsor one writer to join Kristina’s February Bootcamp.
This means that you have the opportunity to join this cohort at no cost to yourself. New Writers Welcome will cover the cost.
To enter you only need to write 150 words on why you would like to be chosen for this opportunity. But hurry — you only have until Friday 21st January at 21:00 GMT to get your entry in.
All the details are here:
Make sure that you read the rules and, if you tag me or link your article here, I will come over and cheer for you!
Wishing you all the best of luck 🤞🍀
