There’s a “Ramyun Library” in South Korea

Walking into “Ramyun Library” in Hongdae is like discovering a noodle lover’s paradise.

They’ve got over 200 different types of ramyeon, or Korean instant noodles.

The store draws all kinds of people, from those going solo to groups of friends, who all want to check out the huge selection.

This place was opened by CU, one of Korea’s big convenience store chains.

But the Ramyun Library takes the convenience store to a whole new level.

When you walk in, the first thing you see is this amazing wall with over 100 slots just for packaged ramyeon.

They’ve got like 90 of the most popular kinds, plus 15 international noodles too, like Japanese ramen and Vietnamese pho.

In total, there are over 225 types of ramyeon between the packaged and cup kinds.

Ramyeon is kinda like ramen but with Korean flavors like spicy and dried veggies.

The store makes it easy for newcomers by labeling each one with its spice level from 1 to 5, like mild, medium, hot, very hot, and hell!

And it’s not just for looking — you can try them too.

After you buy one, they hand you a paper bowl and chopsticks so you can cook it right there using their machine.

There are even tables with suggestions for toppings like cheese, eggs, dumplings, and tuna that you can add.

Oh, and they still have normal convenience store stuff too, like snacks, drinks, and alcohol.

The concept’s been a huge hit — locals and tourists flock there, and on average, over 600 people stop by.

Sales have been through the roof too, with 15,000 packets sold in the first month.

International customers make up over 60% of sales and tend to buy more as souvenirs.

A big reason for its popularity is the whole “Hangang ramyeon” thing where people eat noodles by the Han River.

Shows like Running Man made it a famous thing to do, and now folks want to try cooking ramyeon there just like in the stores along the river.

So in a way, the Ramyun Library brings that experience indoors in Hongdae.

With ramyeon exports growing every year and K-food becoming more famous worldwide, the store aims to showcase Korean ramyeon to more people.

Sounds like with their massive selection, they’re definitely accomplishing that goal.
