There’s a crack in the wall But you cannot see it You know there’s a fissure There’s something wrong Somewhere there’s an invisible crevice That makes you uncomfortable There is a rift, a feeling That you know shouldn’t be there

You feel there’s a cleft In your life Something is Out of order But you cannot See it Cannot put words On it

You can hear A whisper, a crackle You don’t recognize Like you did before - What is this? Please listen Please have a closer look Together with me

A note from the author:

As an experiment, I publish this poem, There’s a crack in the wall, here again. It was first published in a Medium partner publication (a well-known publication with many followers) more than two years ago, and the stats today show the following:

First published on February 7, 2019 Lifetime summary VIEWS 33 EARNINGS $0.02 AVERAGE READING TIME 1 min 8 sec

Many writers on medium (and on other platforms) are experiencing their stories reaching very few readers. We experience obviously a big problem here, and not all publications and writers are fully aware of this challenge and what they can do about it.

Having been an active writer on Medium for four years with 800 published stories, I want to find out more about the secret life that our texts live on Medium.
