Do you feel it too?

There is So Much Anger Everywhere

It is shocking to see up close

My wife and I are immunocompromised. She has Lupus and I have written about it here. Covid, for us, was terrifying.

Even though we are quadruple vaxed and [always] masked, I still don’t like to go many places. We’ve turned home into a fun place to live and work. Most stores can deliver groceries and food these days.

Then, my FIL passed away and suddenly, I was thrust back into society with a shock to my brain and my nerves.

I live in North Carolina, in the Southern part of the US. This area was typically known for being “friendly.” I stress the word “was.”

In the hardware store, the people were just sore. I bet I saw ten different t-shirts with guns, NRA propaganda, and an AR15.

Nothing in particular happened, but the vibes of anger feel really heavy. Is it me, or is everyone just aching for a fight?

I went so far as to ask my wife not to open my door for me because I’m afraid of who may be watching and what they may do or say.

Has anyone else felt the undercurrent of hate in the air?

In the past five years, I have become a second-class citizen in a country I no longer recognize.

Please let me know in the comments.
