There is No Shortage of Good Job Applicants, Only a Shortage of Good Employers

Employer Ghosting, Fake Job Postings, Endless Job Listings but Never Hire… #MediumShort #Shorts

You know when you hear there’s a shortage of labor, and there’s supposed to be an abundance of unfilled jobs?

Well, that’s Bullshit. Despite what many employers will tell you — most suck.

Many, many employers post jobs they never plan to fill unless they run into some rare unicorn employee willing to sell their soul for pennies on the dollar.

These employers post jobs; keeping the listings up and rarely ever filling those positions. They enjoy the labor savings of not filling the positions while complaining they can’t fill the jobs. They tell their employees they just can’t find anyone to help while overworking them.

Meanwhile, a huge segment of society falsely believes there’s an abundance of jobs available and that people are just lazy.

To prove that wrong, several people have studied this, and even submitted large quantities of resumes and applications for employment, only to have 90% of them auto-rejected and the positions never filled.

Job Searching Sucks!

The task of finding work has many nuances. One of the biggest hurdles is finding a job that will pay a living wage. Those jobs are becoming more and more extinct. Applicants are sick and tired of the process of looking for work online or otherwise — getting ghosted by employers, auto-rejections, multiple interviews leading nowhere, etc. It’s no wonder young people are deeply frustrated and upset.

There are a few good employers out there. They answer applications, pay fairly, treat employees well, offer lots of perks and benefits. You know who you are. The bad employers give all employers a bad name.

It’s rather simple to be a good employer that attracts good applicants. Communicate with all applicants. Create a good working environment. Pay living wages. Treat employees as essential to the businesses success. Find ways to retain employees. Invest in employees.

That’s it.
