There Is No Holy Food

A Poem About the Truth of Food

We carry our anger like rocks in our pockets, like the silence of the people before us brought us here like breadcrumbs, and these breadcrumbs were no paths less traveled, but paths that were traveled over for decades.

The time for these new paths is coming, but it is coming slowly, a constant repetition of a new repetition, a constant anticipation of a new anticipation.

We will learn new ways to express ourselves, to escape ourselves, to make sense of ourselves.

In our lifetime, there will be no holy food, no perfect food, no food of the gods.

There will be no food that can solve hunger, no food that can bring back the dead, no food that can mix together to create a son or a daughter, no food that can warp reality, no food that will have the power to be the savior of the world.

In our lifetime,

there will be no holy food.

In this lifetime,

the only open knowledge is the knowledge of the starry space between our ears.

I am very impressed with Eva Rtology’s coverage of the state of our environment and humankind’s place on Earth, the amazing technology that exists, the issues with government power, and the positive changes that are taking place to improve our lives.

I have known since I was very young that the sheer number of 7 billion people on this planet would cause an environmental catastrophe, but I also knew the technology would also exist within the same timeframe to essentially create an abundant, sustainable society in which humans need not fight for survival in order to advance in the world.

A 7.6 billion-year-old planet cannot support 7 billion people, and yet we are doing our best to keep it this way.

And yet, through our own willful ignorance, we are destroying everything in the process.
