There Is No Birth Or Death

There is only now

No birth or death? Only now? That is a lot to wrap your head around, huh? I know that it was for me. It still somewhat is for me as I attempt to learn more about what being a spiritual being that is having a human experience means.

Using what I have learned from parents, teachers, professors, mentors, and literature from the sages from the days of yore led me to question this.

The more that I discover what being a spiritual being means, the more comfortable with myself I become.

Several years ago, my wife and I traveled and lived and worked from our RV for from four to eight or so months a year. When not traveling for a work assignment, we many times would get off of the Interstates and just drive back roads looking for interesting sights or events.

During the day, we may have driven 50 miles or several hundred miles. It didn’t matter because the purpose was to just enjoy what we were doing wherever it was.

Small-town diners with a lot of vehicles parked around it were like a magnet for us. We would go in, order, and listen to and talk with the locals. Found the most interesting things to do and places to see this way.

The point of this is to say that the journey many times, by far, surpassed the destination. Wherever we were, there we were. And, we learned about so much that we never dreamed existed before.

The journey of life is not that much different than when Carol and I were bopping around the USA acting just like we knew what we were doing. A big difference is that the word destination usually is thought of as meaning the end.

End of the trip. See what was believed to be a wonderful place to go and see what there was to be seen. Sometimes we loved what we saw and sometimes we were not thrilled with the experience. Then we would turn around and head home. Home to plan the next destination trip.

Now, looking at life, we are spiritual beings, born into the spiritual Universe, that is governed by spiritual law. As divine beings, we are individualized expressions of God and one with all that exists.

As divine beings, we also have eternal life. Eternal means there is no beginning and no end. No birth and no death. No start and no finish. The human existence is only a teeny-tiny portion of eternity.

And time is always NOW. Over any given time, time is only a series of individual nows. Right now is the time that yesterday you may have had severe anxiety about arriving. And yesterday was the now that you may have guilt or despair over something that you may have done.

This is where the now becomes very interesting. The only real time that you have is now. Now is the only time that you have any control over your actions or deeds.

God is now. God is I Am not I Was or I will be.

An interesting way to look at Now is through forgiveness. Forgiveness is given for an act that occurred before now. The act can not be changed. When you forgive, you can move on with your own life.

When you pay attention to your nows, you have control over your actions and can omit doing anything that you may need forgiveness for. Also, you will feel much better about yourself and thus be able to willingly forgive the actions of others.

So, let's go one step further. Since now is the only time that you can do anything about it means that, by making your nows as good as you can, you have control over your tomorrows and your yesterdays.

When you make your now as ideal as you can, over and over, you will have nothing to fear about tomorrow and nothing to fret and stew over from yesterday. Sounds like a win-win to me!

As Divine, spiritual beings, we are on our journey called Eternal Life, of which our present human, Earthly experience is only a very short phase of.

Do you die? No. As an energy form that is now in a suitcase of skin and bones, you merely change forms. All the while you and the butterfly and the frog are in a constantly evolving journey of nows.

So, open the windows, allow the fresh air to flow through your hair, and enjoy the ride.

Thank you, God!
