DEP Editors Creating Magic Together

Cross countries — Cross Cultures — Cross Religion — Cross Believes — We Spread Positivity and Inspiration.
Our latest book in Dancing Elephants Press is Created by your editors. Our 52-week prompts were so popular that we decided to put them in the book. They inspired many authors and writers in DEP and hope this inspiration will spread further.

Our 52-week live book is still active and you can access these prompts online as well. Yet there is something magical about holding a book.

Creating a book is not easy, there is editing, changing, uploading, and repeating the cycle.

Review by DR Rawson - The Possibilist
52 Weeks of Prompts
So you finally decided that you wanted to write something. Perfect. Oh wait a minute, did you decide what to write? They’re in lies the problem. What to write has plagued writers from the beginning of time. Writers have forever thought, what do I write about? What do I know? Their next thought is, oh, somebody’s already written about that or, I’m sure, somebody already knows how to do that.
It’s been this writer’s experience that people don’t know that. Just because you do doesn’t mean someone else does. That you’ve thought of as a common experience, maybe something utterly foreign to someone else.
But wait, what if there was a book of prompts? Let’s say someone put a book together with 52 prompts. One for each week of the year. Hmm, that’s unique. Would that not help?
Hello, I’m Dr. Rawson, and I’m privileged to be a writer and an editor for Dancing Elephant Press (DEP).
I joined DEP after the prompts had already begun. What a great idea this is. Typically, I’m not at a loss for words or even subjects to write about, but when I saw these prompts, they reminded me of something additional I would like to write about. That presents an additional value for the prompts.
How often have you read something and thought to yourself, “Oh, that’s interesting, but we should discuss so-and-so or where is the point about?” Then, you move on to something brought about by the prompt or the passage you’re reading.
Five writers from all over the world have contributed to this work. They include:
Dr. Gabriella Kőrösi, Dr. Preeti Singh, Vidya Sury — Collecting Smiles, Annelise Lords, Lorena Avila Jaimes
Prompt 22
Here’s the direct quotation from the writer of prompt number 22:
“If I could be
Anyone I want to be
Anything I can be
What would I be?”
— Dr. Gabriella Kőrösi
That’s a different take than “I think therefore I am.”
I can think of so many different things to write about just reading this prompt. How about you?
Still, trying to convince yourself of the value of this book? Consider this:
Prompt 25
Vidya Sury is a well-known author (as many of the prompt writers are), and she proposes the prompt of “happiness,” prompt 25.
It’s a central theme for Vidya. What else would you expect from someone who writes about smiles?
How much could you write about your happiness or the happiness of others? Or what happened as a result of your happiness, or what happened as a result of your journey towards happiness?
Time out . . .
I’ve just shared two essential and fundamental prompts with you. You do realize that there are fifty more, right? Ok, just in case you’re skeptical, Let me share two more with you.
. . . . . . . . . .
Vidya (the same) writes prompt 31, asking about a fond memory. Here’s her challenge:
- a meeting with a friend.
- an experience with a family member
- an incident you remember with joy
- something you enjoyed in solitude
- something you read/viewed that made you happy
- Pick a photo you treasure from your album and tell why you love it.
Wait, then she counsels the reader to use the prompt for:
“A poem, write an essay, or write a photo story.”
So, she’s taken six prompts and given three different ways to express them. It looks like there are eighteen prompts just in this one prompt. Can you see how helpful this book can be? No, Okay, one more example.
Prompt 39
Annelise Lords asks:
Do You Pay Life? Or Does Life Pay You?
Here we are again with more than one prompt, and yet it says prompt number 39. In these, she raises serious questions, which provide an excellent prompt or, should I say, prompts. It might take you a minute to think about what they mean to you and what you think it means to our society.
In summary, not every writer suffers from writer’s block. Every writer could use a little extra inspiration. We’re all readers. It’s impossible to read something and not think of it from a different perspective, time, or place. Or something that spawns a whole new thought.
Just as words become things. Reading spawns ideas. Have you thought of something already?
Review by Shubha Apte
It is truly an honor to pen down a review for the latest offering from the esteemed editors of Dancing Elephants Press. “52 Inspirational Stories to Enlighten Your Day from Writers to Writers.” is a treasure trove of creative inspiration.
What particularly resonated with me about the book and its editors is their unwavering commitment to fostering positivity, joy, and hope. Through myriad inspirational and uplifting stories, they have crafted a sanctuary midst the cacophony of noise and chaos that often envelops our lives.
As a writer for DEP, I have consistently discovered solace within the stories of this book, finding respite and rejuvenation through the thoughtful prompts provided by the editors.
As I delved into the pages, the words of Monica Patrick echoed in my mind, encapsulating the essence of the book: “Live a comfortable, musical life with great acts and interactions. Feed your soul the best food it’s ever had with positive inspiration and positive people.”
I wholeheartedly recommend this book to anyone embarking on a journey seeking inspiration, happiness, and joy. It is a testament to self-care and kindness, providing a road map for those who wish to navigate life’s challenges with a positive mindset.
A compilation of exquisite articles curated by the editors of DEP, this book serves as an excellent gift and a cherished personal keepsake. Dive into its pages, and let the transformative power of positivity guide you on a fulfilling journey.

Visualize this book as a treasure chest filled with 52 exciting writing ideas, but it goes beyond that. It’s like unwrapping a fresh box of chocolates. Each prompt is a delicious treat, that ignites your creativity and makes your writing experience thoroughly enjoyable.
Imagine selecting your favorite chocolates from a box, and you get to choose which prompts will bring you the greatest pleasure. This book will not only spark your imagination to write, but it will enrich the mind as you gather thoughts and ideas based on joyful subjects designed to infuse the senses with happy thoughts.
Here are a few prompts below that I particularly enjoyed, though I’m confident you’ll discover something different that sparks your imagination and sets your pen into action. Each writing prompt possesses the magic to spark joyful thoughts and emotions or kindle a newfound appreciation for simple, often overlooked pleasures in life to be profoundly grateful for.

The Sounds of Nature Are Like Music with Joy by Preeti

Prompt 1 of 52
“Music in the Air”
The talented author, Dr. Preeti Singh reminds us how much music creates joy in our lives. This prompt is about the power of music and how it brings forth peace, healing, and happiness.
Our music choices change as we move through our lives and also how we journey through different phases of life. She reminds us how music can come from different sources in the form of nature, such as the sound of raindrops on the windowsill or the sound of waves crashing on the shore. This piece not only evokes memories as we listen to various sounds, but reminds us of what a gift music really is.
Prompt 50 of 52
“ What is the most valuable thing you have learned from this life?”
This prompt immediately grabbed my attention and had me reflecting on what I have learned and what my purpose is. The accomplished author, Vidya Sury wisely invites us to ponder what lessons and experiences we bring from the past and the present. We are reminded of how easy it is to “rush through life” and not take the time to cherish important moments, to remember to live in the present time.
This prompt is sure to inspire you to come up with your own list!
Suzie
