There Are Only Two Ways to Win In Life (According to the Navy SEALs)

If a particular task is worth your time and energy, then it’s worth doing correctly. Sometimes you only get one shot at success. Make it count.”

Everyone knows the Navy SEALs push the limits of human potential far beyond what is thought to be possible. And they often come out the other side successful.

From a purely physical and mental standpoint, what they achieve is truly remarkable. However, what often gets overlooked is the mindset that helps them get there.

Notice in the quote above how they say there are two ways to do something… the right way and again.

Now normally, right is paired with wrong. But wrong indicates that something is well…wrong. So, in other words, it means that there is a mistake or a failure.

What the Navy SEALs believe, though, is that the process is as important, if not more important, than any particular outcome. So, their whole perspective changes.

Suddenly, mistakes and failures are seen as an opportunity to learn and grow. And that’s where again comes into play.

If they do whatever they’re doing right the first time then it’s done. They move on. But if they don’t do it right, well then they take what they have learned and simply try again.

This commitment to learning and this consistency and determination towards growth leads them to greatness.

Rarely does it ever happen the other way around.

Closing thoughts

Not everyone’s cut out to be a Navy SEAL or anything close to one, for that matter. But anyone can adopt an open mind and a winning mentality that brings them the kind of success that lights up their soul.

That’s one of the gifts of the Navy SEALs. They invite us to see past our current limitations and help change our perspective on what we think is possible.
