Prompt: Tonic of Wildness

There Are No Rules… There Are No Rules…

Oh how I’ve repeated this to myself

There are no rules There are no rules There are no rules There are no rules

There is no one alive who gets to tell me what the rules are. There is no one on this planet who is above me. There is no human who gets to be my judge and jury. There is no one here who gets to tell me what I should do.

How many times have I repeated this to myself? How many times have I tortured myself over what some other person might think? Why do they have dominion over me? Who are “they” anyway?

Where did these rules come from and why am I internalizing them as something I need to follow? I hear a child’s voice inside saying “You’re not the boss of me!”… and yet, there is such deep training that somehow they are.

The tonic of wildness. To remember that I am alive inside. To remember that I was born to be totally free. This is who I actually am.

I am not a robot. I am not something to be programmed for their will. I am not supposed to do the same things Day in and day out Just because my ancestors were trained that way.

I am free. I incarnated here. I want to breathe. I want to be free to exist in whatever way my soul desires.

I want to dance and have sex and eat delicious food. I want to laugh and cry and scream and howl at the moon. I want to sleep and read and have long baths.

I want to only listen within.

I am wild. I am wild. I am wild. I am wild.

I am free Alive Happy And Blissfully wild.

Last year, I published a book called You Don’t Have to Eat the Eyeballs: A Story of Travel, People-pleasing, & True Self-Love… for anyone else who is a perpetual people-pleaser. 😊
