There Are 50 Shades of Happiness

‘Good things’ come in every colour.

I woke up this morning and it was super sunny. Three breakfasts later and now it’s drizzly, rainy, windy, grey.

Has anything changed?

Do those three breakfasts now taste different? Are there still kids out there selling lemonade on the curbside? Are elderly dogs being adopted and science nerds falling in love? Are coma patients waking up and students getting A’s and daffodil’s coming into bloom? Spotify still has Stacy’s Mom on there. The movie Shaun of the Dead still exists. Cadbury World is only twenty minutes from my house and I know that somewhere, right now, Robert Pattinson’s has that jawline.

Good is still happening.

Just because there’s a greyscale veil draped over my pocket of the Earth, doesn’t mean happiness can’t still exist in black and white. Joy is every colour, the dull ones included.

Rain or shine or the extinction of Vine — life is still throbbing with greatness.
