The Yin and Yang of a Work of Art
Poetry Inspired by Ali’s Artwork and Coffee Times Prompt

Seek and ye shall find, a palette so refined, for what is art but beauty that exists in the eyelash of the beholder, seeing what remains unseen, unraveling yin and yang, and spaces in-between, the mysterious dance of light and shadow, in tones of golden hues and wedgewood blues, hunter green and ebony, a bridge linking the mind to the soul, stories told, words unfold, a nesting of tangled branches.
Mystical when oracle pigments overlap and drip upon stained, canvas unwrapped, once blank and immaculate, while brushstrokes gentle and ferocious glide, letting paint drops of passion and tranquility collide.
And so, I am captivated and inspired by a painting immersed in such beauty.
But there will always be more to life and art than ever meets the naked eye, that brings us closer to soul and sky, the tempest and the calm, the silken moon uncreased, finding me trapped within the vortex of magic and masterpiece.
Grace notes: I was more than mesmerized by this most beautiful artwork by Ali. I find it magnificent, evocative and intriguing.
For example, when I looked at the center brushstrokes, I wondered if they depicted a bridge, a tree branch with birds gliding, the sun setting, a vortex, or even a magnified eye?
Intrigued, I inspected the colors within the dramatic eye and noticed, hidden within golden shadows, an etching of the side of a woman’s face with the most beautiful, gazing eyes. Eyes within the eye. This subtlety had escaped me until that very moment. At first, I had seen an image that reminded me of rolling hills or a horizon and the round symbolism for yin and yang. Hence, the title and the thought process of my prompted poetry. And to think, all this, inspired by Ali’s art. Kudos to your talent, Ali.
And since the universe is filled with synchronicity, here is some music to ponder life and art:
