Summary

In the year 2222, humanity has undergone significant shifts in thinking and technology, moving towards a more sustainable, abundant, and imaginative future, guided by principles of biomimicry, blue economy, and systemic design.

Abstract

The narrative explores a conversation between the author and Merlinda, a holographic descendant from the year 2222, who highlights the transformative changes that have occurred over two centuries. These changes include the shift from scarcity to abundance, the local production of goods with global sharing of immaterial services, the transition to economies of scope and cluster economies, the acceptance of diversity as an asset, the increase in planetary carrying capacity through ecosystem restoration, and the renaissance of artists and free-thinkers. The text emphasizes the importance of aligning technology with planetary laws, learning from nature's 4.6 billion years of innovation, and the need for humanity to become an adaptive, thriving species. It also touches on the role of systemic design, the influence of Web3, and the impact of decentralized autonomous organizations (DAOs) in shaping a future where citizens are independent and governments are leaner and more efficient.

Opinions

  • The author suggests that current technological and commercial lock-ins are hindering progress, and a shift in thinking towards energy, frequency, and vibration is necessary.
  • There is a critique of the lack of imagination in humanity, which contributes to societal and environmental issues, and a call for the use of biomimicry and blue economy principles to address these challenges.
  • The text expresses that entropy should be viewed as regenerative, particularly in complex systems, and that this perspective is crucial for future innovations.
  • The author posits that nature technology, which has been evolving for billions of years, holds the key to solving sustainability issues and that only a fraction of these strategies have been utilized by humans.
  • There is an emphasis on the importance of inspiration and collective action, drawing a parallel to President John F. Kennedy's Moonshot speech, to drive transformative change.
  • The author advocates for the responsible use of technology and the enforcement of regulations to prevent environmental poisoning, mirroring nature's waste-free processes.
  • The narrative conveys optimism about the potential for a future where humanity is in harmony with planetary laws, and where technology supports the regeneration and sustainability of life on Earth.

FUTURE

The Year 2222 — What Are the 6 Most Important Shifts?

And who is Merlinda?

Picture: Gerd Altmann via Pixabay

Merlinda is looking feminine and vibrant today. Dressed in red, she’s like a lively blood flow touching my veins. I know she’s a hologram from the future, but I can’t tell the difference. She’s here. With me. Time is no issue. And we are related.

Merlinda: Hi, grandma

Me: Hi, my dear, how’s life in 2222?

Merlinda smiles at me. A beaming smile full of warmth and love.

“Life’s good. The kids are naughty and drive me nuts sometimes. But my work is going great and the swarm drones are finally disappearing now. About time. These silly engineers have taken ages to get the noise out of them. Noise pollution is the worst for me. You were a sensitive woman in your time. Well, I’m 200 times worse, I think”

Now it’s my turn to smile. I can imagine swarms of drones bringing packages and no engineer in the world thinks of getting the noise out with some simple biomimicry techniques.

And after 200 years, you’d imagine smart engineers would have figured out how Nikola Tesla did it. Throwing the engine out.

Replacing the engine with an antenna.

It’s already possible in the current day and age. A combination of the two tech companies Blue Earth Innovation and the Antenna Company might be all it takes. And if these two companies have time for another project, I’ll be applauding their collaboration.

It might be time to show the world how ether energy works by applying the hardcore mathematic antenna technology at Chateau Cortils in Belgium.

Science and Innovation

It’s 2022 and we’re stuck. Stuck in technological and commercial lockins. Chaos is ruling the world and everybody is just shouting. Technology people are saying that we already know everything there is to know. While all we do is stay stuck in the matter. Material. Molecules. Particles.

However, everything is connected through the air. The atmosphere. Ether. Waves. It’s time to shift some thinking.

Like Nikola Tesla said:

“If you want to find the secrets of the universe, think in terms of energy, frequency and vibration”

— Nikola Tesla

Meanwhile, our engineering stays stuck in old ideas about entropy being degraded. Which is not true. Entropy is pure regeneration. Especially when applied in complex systems.

The Poincare Recurrence Theorem proves it. And that means that for future innovations, mathematics and astrophysics inspired by nature are way more important than old-school physics and engineering.

That’s where the big innovations are coming from nowadays.

Nature. Biology. Ecology. Space. And of course the universal language of nature, mathematics.

For 25 years already, biomimicry science and engineering are leading in real-life applications. Just like blue economy technology.

Gunter Pauli is nicknamed the Steve Jobs of Sustainability. He has been topping the international university charts with his think tank ZERI. And I’ve been working alongside many biomimicry and blue economy teams for 10+ years now.

Asknature.org is the #1 innovation website where all scientists, innovators, and engineers find their biology and ecology strategies for a certain function they want to emulate.

What does this technical blah blah have to do with Merlinda?

Everything, my friends, everything!

Huge Lack of Imagination

As humanity, we are suffering from a huge lack of imagination. We think we know it all. And in the meantime, our planet and humanity as a whole are suffering.

Chemical companies are poisoning us and our human systems allow it by not closing toilet systems for instance. Or chemical production sites. All producers should be fully responsible for all they create. And use their waste in new processes. Just like nature does.

It’s not difficult. It just needs to be done. Enforced that poisoning is not allowed anymore!

If people are stuck in a huge lack of imagination, it is a Wild Writer’s task to get them out. So, that’s my job. And I do it together with my great-great-great-great-grandaughter Merlinda. She lives in the year 2222.

Do you know what a Moonshot is?

With his Moonshot speech, President John F. Kennedy inspired us to land on the moon. He inspired people so much with his longing and complete certainty to land on the moon, that they found ways to make it happen.

When he gave that speech in 1961, he didn’t know HOW they were going to do it. But the longing was so contagious that they managed it.

Sometimes you have to jump over hurdles to get where you want to go.

And that’s what Merlinda is helping me with.

Deep Time

Nature does technology differently than we humans do right now. And if we understand the rules of our planet, we can change technology to be in line with planetary laws.

That is the answer to our huge sustainability issues.

Homo Sapiens have been roaming the planet for 300,00 years. We are a toddler species. And our planet has been innovating for 4.6 billion years. Around 80% of all the biology and ecology strategies have never been used in human technology so far.

So, there is an enormous nature technology world to explore!

Imagining the future can make us leap forward. Just like Kennedy’s Moonshot.

Six Most Important Shifts

Me: Merlinda, can you tell us what the six most important leaps have been in the progress of humanity between 2022 and 2222?

Merlinda: Hmmm… let me think. There are definitely more than six. But let me name a few of the most important ones.

“It was as if they finally realized that an adaptive species is a thriving species” — Merlinda

  1. The shift from scarcity to abundance. More microbes. More immune system. More diversity. More SME companies. More citizens becoming independent. More liveliness and soul in cities and technology. More breaking down of walls between silos and budgets. Resulting in cheap governments and a stop to accumulating costs
  2. Physical products are produced locally. And immaterial goodies (education, ideas, energy, frequencies, vibrations) spread globally. One big moment was the time when the concept of systemically designing from a core landed for real in the heads of global leaders. Of course, the war in Ukraine and the final understanding of crushing geopolitics and already existing alternatives did most of this work
  3. The shift from linear economies to economies of scope and cluster economies. Helped of course, by citizen-owned DAOs (decentralized autonomous organizations) and community currencies. Unconditional basic crypto incomes are normal now in 2222 and everyone can choose their path in life freely
  4. The acceptance of diversity as a standard and an asset. And the addition of more complexity and wider diversity to balance the whole system
  5. With ecosystem restoration, we increased the carrying capacity of the planet. We can finally handle the number of people and other species living on this planet now. We applied regeneration with as little effort as possible and as much impact as possible. Lazy techniques. Lots of restoration from a distance. And vibrant economic activity with nature’s production. Phytomining instead of extractive mining in your day and age. Local, additive manufacturing with the minerals and metals
  6. The most important in-between stage started in 2028. It was a renaissance of artists and free-thinkers. Everybody seemed to feel their inner flame intensely and the planet shifted from a solid, dense phase (bones) to liquid (blood) and gas (breath). Sea levels were rising and rivers were flooding, but people everywhere were adapting their lives big time. It was as if they finally realized that an adaptive species is a thriving species. And that everybody had the immense power to arrange a collective change. They were dancing4theplanet with NFTs and it started to dawn on leaders that a powerful collective cannot be controlled. So, they allowed the parallel systems of fully distributed DAOs and NFTs next to the central control of banks and governments. Web3 was the start of beautiful progress

Me: my dearest Merlinda, I really hope we will write many stories together. About technology, the economy, and the need to involve our hearts and souls in everything we do. I’ll contribute my huge network of scientists, free-thinkers, and business innovators.

You just do what you do. Be my grandchild from the year 2222.

And tell us what might have happened next.

Merlinda: Gotta run, grandma! Nice meeting you. The kids love you too! And don’t forget to innovate your dinners! The kids still love your food forest recipes from the ecologically intensified Tiny Forest in our city.

And she disappeared with a puff.
