Here I am … Look down.
Rising in the periphery of others’ shadows. Claiming my space.
Rising slowly. Reaching for the sun.
Unfurling my beauty. Waiting to catch the eye of an admirer.
Who doesn’t long to have their words savored? Who doesn’t want to be known, to be felt, to be understood?
My beloved Sonoran desert can be a harsh environment to inhabit. It requires patience for the rain to fall. It expects adaptability for changing weather patterns. It demands grit to flourish in the relentless heat and sandy soil.
But when all three agreements are met? What a glorious sight to behold the ensuing blossoms that burst forth!
And so, keep writing. Each one of us has a story to tell the world. What’s yours?
