Summarize

The writing journey is more important than the outcome

Writing more is not necessarily better. What is important, is to write down what you really think, feel and believe in. I write because I want to. I write because I love the feeling of putting my thoughts on paper.

Should I “force” myself to produce words in a flow?

There is something daunting about writing, though. It scares me sometimes to share all of my thoughts with the world.

On the one hand, my thoughts are something intimate, something I do not need to share with anyone.

On the other hand, I want people to read my thoughts, my ideas. Even if I do not have a large following on my medium blog or personal website, it should not bother me. There are things I simply need to get out of my system.

Educate

My words are by no means more interesting or better than those of anyone else. But, perfection is not the goal in life; I believe it is about moving forward. We must share our experiences, teach each other the things we have learned and continue to grow as a human being.

Thoughts develop, it is an iterative process

When you get older, you learn to appreciate what it means to share and educate. If it had not been for the inspiring people around me, I would not be able to produce the thoughts I have today.

Thoughts, develop

We were not placed on this earth to develop new thoughts alone, but thinking is an iterative process. We develop our thoughts as we learn more. Hence, we should share the steps we take in between as well so that others can broaden their horizon, too.

I just wrote these words in five whole minutes, using an app called „Flowstate;“ it forces you to continue to write, for the time you tell the app you want to write. When you stop writing, the app deletes all of the thoughts you wrote down up until that very moment.

It is scary really, but incredibly interesting what came out of my brain regarding these topics in such a short period of time. A fascinating experience, which I surely will continue to explore further.

PS: I have decided not to delete or change any passages (apart from the odd spelling mistake).

This was a five-minute exercise, I am a little bit scared to fire up the app again and write a longer passage. I managed to squeeze over 350 words out in five minutes. I am afraid that the quality of work, will deteriorate considerably when forced to write longer text. But, I can definitely recommend the exercise; give it a go, too.
