What is The Writer’s Way about?
To put things into perspective, The Writer’s Way is a hybrid of writing and memoir.
While this publication somewhat specializes in writing, as many may know, we strive to stick less to the business side of it and more to personal stories and experiences.
Here at The Writer’s Way, we prioritize the role of storytelling and authentic experience as the core of our mission to bring our readers the best of advice and inspiration.
How long is a submission usually in review?
After you have submitted your articles, it usually takes a few hours to a day before our editor gets to them, depending on the workload and our editor’s availability.
How do I distinguish between “Writer’s Journal” and “Writer’s Life”?
While both categories can deal with personal experiences and events, there are several key differences:
- Work categorized as Writer’s Journal: — May contain a record of daily experience. — May discuss incomplete thoughts, personal ideas, and observations without delving deep into them. — Is very brief (1 to 3 minutes). — Style examples: diary entries, journal entries, flash nonfiction, etc.
- Work categorized as Writer’s Life: — Tell stories, usually from the past, that hold personal significance and drive a central idea, if present, forward. — Discusses personal ideas and observations backed with life experience and research. — Can be as long as needed to develop a well-rounded story and back up any claim/thesis. — Style examples: personal essays, personal narratives, memoirs, etc.
This is not an exhaustive list of questions, as we may add more questions from our readers and writers in the future. If the answer you are looking for is not on this page, feel free to ask us questions in the comment section and we will respond to the best of our ability.
