The Worst Prison
Shame will eat men alive until their insides unravel upon shriveled skin

Shame is a jailer, laughing behind metal bars as the grip of my clammy hands slip and fade in the shadows.
Shame is the click of the lock, the rattle of fading keys. My wide eyes glassy, as the last guard throws me a wink and leaves.
Shame is patient with a dull sword in hand slowly working its way through the heart of my tears, it will rip me in half, eat me alive and feast upon my fears.
Shame is ceaseless, merciless, and every time I take the hit. I am broken, severed, only to be patched up with jagged edges that will never fit.
