UNIVERSAL BALANCE
The World’s Gonna Do What The World’s Gonna Do

There are codes programmed into the universe that allow it to be. Universal laws of science and nature that lay the foundation for all that is.
These aspects of our existence will always be. They are. Water runs downstream because gravity pulls it that way. Opposites attract. We’re carbon-based. Oxygen is our lifeline.
Fast forward a few million years through the unfolding of these universal laws, to a porch in the mountains, overlooking an expanse of nature. The fog was rolling in, over the hills, to reach the trees dancing in the foreground. Mike stood on one side and Jason on the other. They spoke music. They both played in successful bands and fluently speak music. They understand why music works on a foundational level. They write music, and play music, and can definitely talk music.
It was similar to talking with two French men who break into their native tongue. I deeply appreciated and resonated with the conversation. But I couldn’t contribute much.
Listening to this conversation (which was rewarding yet untouchable), allowed me to lift out of the conversation, and look in on the scene. In doing so, I landed with the acknowledgment that the world is gonna do what the world is gonna do.
There are aspects of our planet that just are what they are, whether we are a part of them or not. Music works for these reasons …no matter how much, or how little, I understand it. Chords in the key of G just work together. Always.
The laws of nature exist always and forever. They always have been and always will be. They are foundational aspects of our planet that always work, no matter what.
The beauty lies in the freedom we are given, to choose how we exist, within the rules that have been established. You need to breathe oxygen. Outside of that, you have A LOT of freedom in regard to how you choose to interact with the world around you.
Where do you want to live? What do you want to do? Who do you want to be around? How do you choose to live?
There are as many different options as there are ways to play music.
The goal is for each of us to make our own music.
The world will continue to do its thing around us. There are wars and natural disasters. People die. The sun comes up. Water continues in its cycle.
We have no control over it. We only have control over ourselves. That’s it. Everything outside of you is going to do whatever it’s going to do. Release any expectations, beliefs, or desires you hold toward everything outside of yourself.
Let it do what it does.
You just play your music.
