The Words

My New Poetry Book

Book cover by K. A. Simran

I was walking alone one day when I realized I was my best companion.

I am walking down a foggy road in my head. I still can’t see what lies ahead. At this point, my anxiety is sky-high. So I stop and stand still, and that is when I hear the voice of my soul. It says:

“Don’t be afraid of the unseen. On a foggy road, the only way out is always through. Don’t get confused when you reach a fork in the road. It is not a dead end. The bright side of a fork in the road is that both branches lead somewhere. The only thing you have to do is choose.

“Deciding what to do is not hard. Living with the choices you make is the true challenge. But you won’t learn any of it unless you take that first step.”

At this point, my breathing returns to normal. My soul says further:

“What are you afraid of, anyway? I have seen the place I came from, and I know it will be there when I go back. Since I never come into being and I never go out of existence, there is nothing that can kill me. So keep going.

“The foggy path foretells many surprises ahead. Life amazes you all the time. Step forward knowing that nothing can kill me, but keep in mind that I can get hurt. Let’s make some good memories together along the way that will stay with me long after I depart your body. Let me be amazed by the unseen. Even though I have known all this for a long time, I have slowly forgotten it as time goes by. Let me see it again.

“Whenever you feel stuck or see this fog, don’t let fear overtake your dreams. All you need to do is talk to me through the silence that carries ancient wisdom and has witnessed many lifetimes. The fog will disperse immediately.”

Listening to my soul, I close my eyes and smile.

I still see the fog, but I walk right through it to explore all the wonders it envelops. I am enchanted by the mystery of life. I no longer fear the unknown. I know I have a responsibility to fulfill, as my soul is on its journey home.

This is what my new poetry book, The Words, is about.

I believe that one who listens to their inner self never feels alone on the pathway to life.

About the Title —

About three years ago, I embarked on a journey into spiritual writing. I have learned so much about life. I had also read about soul-searching and spiritual awakening. In theory, I understood what it meant, but numerous thoughts and questions were still knocking on my mind night and day. So, I started spending more and more time with myself. I was trying to solve the greatest mystery of the universe amidst a sea of books, but I found the solution in silence.

In a world of silence, I heard the sweetest sound of wisdom — the voice of a soul.

As I sit in silence, my soul gives me words of wisdom to help me understand the power and magic of the unseen. Those words tell me the secrets that are hidden behind the layer of mysticism and are waiting to be revealed. They tell me that the sacred pond in which the white lotus blooms, which is the soul, is beyond and within everyone, including me. Ancient wisdom flows in abundance in this pond.

Now I take a dip in that pond every day, knowing that it is within reach, yet it remains pure.

So, that is how my new book of spiritual poems came alive. I chose the title ‘The Words’ because, well…you know.

My whole life collapsed when I lost my dad last year. It shook my world. The experience left me feeling like my soul was being transported from place to place, and when it came back, I was a completely different person. It was as if I went from being a little child to a mature person in an instant.

I realized that although this was my new birth, I had nothing to fear because my soul has seen it all and will lead me safely through whatever lay ahead. I had been sleeping before, but now I was wide awake. Although I still have a long way to go, I now know that in order to see the eternal truth, one can avoid having to go through such a heartbreaking experience by constantly nourishing their soul with gratitude and love.

About the book:

This book is divided into four sections, titled ‘Introspection,’ ‘Wisdom,’ ‘Epiphany,’ and ‘Freedom.’ Each section describes a soul’s journey back home, following the path of spirituality.

The first section, “Introspection,” focuses on analyzing your thoughts, deeds, and the results of those things. It is about making sure that your head and your heart are aligned properly, or, in other words, whether or not they are in harmony with one another. Everything from “what” to “when” in life is covered here.

In the second section of the book, which is titled “Wisdom,” the topic at hand is, as the title suggests, gaining wisdom about how to navigate through life. It is an insight into getting a better understanding of life and how things intertwine. Understanding the “how” of things is the focus here.

The third section, “Epiphany,” reveals to the reader the reasons behind everything that happens in life.

When the reader reaches the final section, “Freedom,” their heart will be filled with the same delight that a soul experiences when it is enlightened. Those who have had life-changing epiphanies at some point can truly understand what it means to be free.

Every soul desires to travel the spiritual road in order to reconnect with its true essence and rediscover the wisdom of the ages it has forgotten.

All 33 poems reflect the various scents that a soul experiences during its stay in the Garden of Life. Each poem has an illustration defining its essence.

I invite you to take a dip in the deep pond of ancient wisdom.
