The Wonderful Mother Earth

Mother earth needs nourishment

Take care of the earth,

Support the environment,

Keep it fresh and green,

Mother earth needs nourishment,

Make the world a better place.

Every day is earth day for me. I celebrate mother earth and its bountiful gifts to me and wish it is well protected and nourished and the harmful effects of climate change through the pollutants that we have used for our progress are reduced through new techniques.

The celebration of ‘Earth Day’ started in 1970. This year with Coronavirus I was not an active participant but otherwise, we had panel discussions and made people aware of the environment and the need to look after the earth.

We did the tree plantations with our MBA students. The method to grow vegetables and fruits without chemicals through natural processes was also discussed and some of my students have organic farms too.

I sincerely feel that our earth needs to be looked after and restoration to its damage due to climate change must be done through participation at all levels.

The Government is preparing a new climate policy in India.

This tanka is in response to R. Rangan PhD to write something on Earth day.
